3d Graphic Card not found

    Hi Guys, here my first entry in your nice forum. Sorry for my bad english.
    Hi Leute, hier mal mein erster Beitrag in diesem Forum.


    After years I found the Freelancer CD and want to install it on a Zotac ZBOX ID82 with a Intel® HD Graphics 3000 onboard GPU. But I got the error that there are no 3D GPU found by Freelancer. First of all this is my configuration and what I have done:
    - ZBOX ID 82 with Windows 7 x64 Pro. (Details )
    - directX 11 was installed
    - FL installation was successfully (German version, I installed it on my laptop where it is running, but I want to play it on the ZBOX too)
    - I tried to setup to setup the camera.ini, freelancer.ini for using widescreen resulution.(incl. these Font files and so on ... like the documentations I fond everywere in the Net)
    - I configured the     flconfigdatabase.txt with the 0x0116 = 'Intel HD Graphics 3000' line


    But the game quits before the first video is starting with the error message "no 3d graphic card found..."


    What can I do to get FL running on these ZBOX ID82?
    Was kann ich noch probieren... ?


    Kann Crossfire da helfen? Werde das heute Abend mal versuchen zu Installieren.

    You should have already heard that Intel has temporarily stopped shipping their chipsets for Sandy Bridge processors a while back because of the recently found error in them, and your card is based on that architecture.


    Have you done a 3D benchmark test on the Zotac ZBOX ID82 to see that 3D is in fact enabled on that system?

    I bought the ZBOX this month, but anyway I download a 3dmark will run the test. Thanks for your answer.


    Edit: 3Dmark06 runs, ... not that fast, but running. ~11fps at 720p.

    When you run the dxdiag command, is everything ok and whql verified (driver problems) ?
    And you did put your graphics Card in the Intel section - right ?


    You installed everything with 'run As Administrator' aswell ?

    dxdiag says everthing fine. I wrote the line to the Intel section in the flconfigdatabase.txt. But before I change the flconfigdatabase.txt from a site with a lot of other cards in there. I want to change the flconfigdatabase.txt to the original one and then enter the 0x0116 = 'Intel HD Graphics 3000' line. But now I am at work... so I will try it at lunch time.

    Edit: I don't mention if I installed it with admin rights. Maybe I will reinstall it and try it with a clean installation.

    So the next step.


    - deinstallation, cleaning disk and registry.
    - installation with Amin rights FL (FL quit with "no 3d card")
    - set 0x0116 = 'HD 3000' in the flconfigdatabase.txt (FL quit with "no 3d card")
    - set start as admin (FL quit with "no 3d card")
    - set compatibility mode to XP SP2 (FL quit with "no 3d card")
    - change intel GPU drivers from 8.15.10.2677 to 8.15.10.2622 (FL quit with "no 3d card")


    some other ideas?

    Do you have saved games in my documents\my games\freelancer..... Ex restart.fl (<-delete it) or rename folder (to save other games)


    You have not installed the crossfire mod ?


    A longshot would be Windows Media player (intro video's) problem. But I only experienced that with a new Windows XP were it was not installed and activated.

    I have got never a running FL, so there are only a clear documents\my games\freelancer folder. Maybe I copy the folders from my laptop and try then.


    Could it be a codec problem? I installed shark 007 codec pack for usig the windows media center. MS Media Player himself is running.


    I installed the CF mod yesterday. I got the start screen and after choosing the singe player button I got the same error message like before.

    You can remark startup video out in freelancer.ini and i Think its worth a shot.
    Otherwise maybe a bios update if any is available.


    I have a computer with Intel HD Graphics (at work) and both FL and CF is running just fine.


    Don't copy autosave.fl and restart.fl from your laptop or you Will have a crash.


    About changing screensize and fonts -I allways do that as the last thing.

    FL CF is running now. I copied the PerfOption File from my laptop to the zbox and after that FL is starting.

    FL never generates a perfoption file at my zbox. So I copy the perfoption file from my laptop and edit the resolution for my TV (1920x1080) and it works. Seems that FL not able to gernerate a perfoption file by himself.

    Hi, i noticed this thread as i have the same video card as you do i think, remember to add both video cards as the Intel 3000 series has a secondary card a nvidia mobile, don't forget to add that. That one is better at 3D by far as well, you should either change your default gpu to nvidia for games, or disable User Access Control and use the right click run with graphics processor nvidia option. I hate optimus cards i spend more time trying to find workarounds then any other card i've had since the voodoo banshee....circa 1990s.

    Here is my version its based on a Louva-Deus version with 5 modifications based on stuff i use (intel 3000 HD, HD, nvidia 320m, 520m, and 9600 GT, is there a new version somewhere i can merge them and repost here?
