  • ATI introduced the RADEON X700 family of visual processors.

The RADEON X700 delivers excellent graphics performance for gaming and visual processing, at

a price suited to a broad range of users. Delivering a gaming experience that is anything

but mainstream, the RADEON X700 visual processing units (VPUs) include the advanced features

of the X800 family of VPUs and a higher level of performance than some of last years

high-end visual processors, but for less than USD 200.

    Based on the RADEON X800

architecture and designed to closely adhere to Microsofts DirectX 9 specification, the

RADEON X700 includes advanced architectural elements and features previously reserved for

products twice the price of the RADEON X700. The eight pixel pipe and six vertex pipe

architecture is unique for products in this class, enabling unprecedented processing power

than any other mid-range priced graphics processors on the market.

    The RADEON X700

products, built by either ATI or one of its board partners, are supported by ATIs CATALYST

suite of software. CATALYST AI, a newly introduced feature of ATIs software suite, allows

customers to enjoy improved levels of performance and a better overall experience with

todays popular games. Users enable and control their preferred level of performance

enhancement without having to sacrifice image quality.

    The RADEON X700 family will

include the RADEON X700 XT, the RADEON X700 PRO and the RADEON X700, with a variety of

memory configurations and speeds to meet the wide range of needs of customers looking for a

visual processor for gaming, streaming video, digital photo editing and other visually

demanding activities. Priced as low as USD 149, the RADEON X700 products will provide

    excellent performance for their price.

The RADEON X700 PRO is now shipping. Products

will be available soon from ATI and ABIT, ASUS, Connect3D, Diamond Multimedia, Giga-Byte,

High-Tech, ITC, MSI, Palit, Sapphire, Tul, Visiontek and YUAN. The RADEON X700 XT and RADEON

    X700 will ship next month.

  • i like these ati cheap cards... i think most users dont need the

features of the expensive ones, so paying 300 USD more for those cards is not very

    clever...
i use a really cheap ati radeon 9000 in my computer and most games work even

now, 1 year after buying it. for next games generation i probably will have to change my

card, but i think i should change also a 9500 card if i had it
    anyway i dont like 1st

person / doom type games, so i dont need as much graphics power as other users...
    any of

u thinks these non-expensive cards arent enougth for him?

(" )_(" ) signature to help him gain world domination.

Bunny thinks Ed is not as cool as him

  • ME

i like fps n stuff but even rpgs and strategies..

    take perimiter

ofr example... you need a hell of a card..

its draining my 9800se dry, and i also got

a gig of ddr ram and an amd2800

  • the general idea changed.
    Games will be more and

more worked out graphically at the expense of features and fun/gameplay.

    No matter

what you play in the future, unless it's solitaire, you will need a card that is capable of

specialized gamma blending, beta-ray nuclear emitting, sun emulating and breast enlarging

  • perimeter bored me

silly. looked like a good idea, but never really fulfilled potential...and control was

difficult. to be fair im not much of an RTS fan to begin with...

    but i didnt have any

trouble running it - on an Athlon XP 2000+ and Geforce Ti 4200 64MB :P
