    Hi,Can someone please tell me how to beat Dexter Hovis in this race.I have lost count of how many tries,now driving me nuts! :cursing:

    when going towards the last ring, turn right instead of left. Also make sure to manually turn on your cruise engines and fly through the course like that, the A.I will make him during some phase of the middle to near end of race cheat and turn on the guns in race. Just continue to fly through the rings and win.

    When you're about to race, I mean when the race starts, push the impulse speed and then the cruise one(shit+w in defaults) as fast as you can in this order. Then when you're racing, don't go through the middle of the circles, but in the right/left corners instead(depends on which side the next circle is nearer ofc).


    That's how I beat it everytime.

    yeah set engine to cruise and cut the corners of the rings as if you were racing on a car track. cut cut cut and you will always win! good luck!

    Also for cheap little side note, if your using something like a Dromedary or Bretonia equivalent Frieghter and can get out in front of Hovis, then your ship is large enough for you to effective block him out of being able to pass you when going through the rings, and you are allowed to get away with bumping Hovis once. So if you can bump him just right to make him miss a ring but not yourself. Then you can win that way also if your not able to beat him in a pure race.

    Change max cruise speed in constant.ini to 100 from 450 then thrust your way through the race, then change back again after wards, that way you can keep what ever ship you have with out buying light fighter for the race.
