Small Bug (in my opinion)

When i played 1.8 i found that most of the rapid fire weapons had a new effect, all the same effect an annoying purple glow. I presumed it was a bug but as its in 1.9 too i am guessing its a feature, so far have have had to only use slow firing weapons but i am finding it quite annoying. I am guessing that editing the weapons directly to remove this would cause the anti-cheat to kick in, if so is there any other way i would be able to change this, replace its texture with a transparent one perhaps?
