  • hello there im new to crossfire. started sp no problem getting the rouges down. just takes longer, nice that they use shields n stuff. BUT. the ammount of money needed to get to lv 2 after the first mission is just redicolus. im at about 168k now and i need 450k to get to lv 2! is that supposed to be like that? like for how long should i make those little missions... 2 years? anyone knows how to get there a bit quicker? are there any custom missions so i get more than just about 4k per mission? thanks.

  • Scrap the missions, go trade^^

It is easy to make a good amount of money by trading, especially with the new items labeled "Black Market" (I was wondering, does it turn Police NPC hostile if they scan you while you transport such goods?).

  • Or just do missions, and when you kill NPC's collect their pods, and save them in your cargo... Sell them later in any prison(texas nearest one)... Every pod for 45k, i believe...

EDIT: i forgot that you can't leave NY yet, except via Custodian, where are big chances that you are not going to survive... So the best way is through trading...

Don't judge a ship by the number of it's guns, but by the skill of it's crew.

  • Thanks for pointing where that Prison ship is, I was like "Yea! Escape pods! Let's sell th- waiiiiiit a minute, 1 credit?!"

It is hard to find prison ships when you never paid attention to them when you played the game like 6 years ago and just got back into it x)

Anyway, as for my question, is there any risk of "smuggling" "Black Market" branded items, like getting attacked by police NPC? Or is it just to emphasize the RP aspect for MP?

  • Prison is station, not ship... And it is right next to the planet in texas... and, yes, you can be attacked if NPC cop scan you... :)

  • There aren't " prison ships " , lol ... you just collect as many prisoners as you can carry in your cargo and sell them at any prison for good money.

And yes, there's a big chance of the NPCs stopping you if you are smuggling BMGs and even players that do police RP here ( if you're playing online ), but if you're playing in SP , only the NPCs can attack you if you refuse of dropping your BMGs.

  • Ow, many thanks, I was assuming that NPC police didn't care since I did that a fair amount of time to get level 2 and they never seemed to be bothered with it. Must have been lucky than :)

By the way, there is something that bothers me: I'm playing a French version of Freelancer, but using Crossfire some voices were replaced in English. Is there any way for me to patch my game into an English one, so I don't have weird conversation between an American and some French dude that magically understand each other? (Well, RP-speaking, it could be instant translation devices, but it still sounds so weird).

  • LOL, that gotta be funny to hear :D i don't know how could you solve that tho :S
