Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • if you mean the controll settings, where you can choose to use a joystick or keyboard only, then yes .. it is activated ingame

the drivers are properly installed. with every other game i tried so far my stick works as it should. but then again IL2,HAWX and DSO are all newer than SL ..

my system is win7 ultimate 64 and i have 2 other devices plugged in to my pc, a logitech gamepad and and an arcade fightstick for beat em ups, none of them are recognized by SL.

  • can you check if the stick is working dxdiag?
microsoft does use directplay 8 if i remember correct... maybe there is the problem

  • well that's comforting :p

starlancer is one of my all time favourite games, and i really was looking forward to play it again :(
    that sucks :(

  • did you enable windows 98 compatibiliy mode for the starlancer's exe file?

    (\__/)
(='.'=) This is Bunny. Copy and paste bunny into your
(" )_(" ) signature to help him gain world domination.

Bunny thinks Ed is not as cool as him

  • nope i didn't but i'll try that now

edit: the game doesn't even start in win 98 compatibility mode .. the splash screen shows up as usual, but then the process is killed without an error.

i run the game as admin, i even disabled my firewall but nothing changed.

eidt 2: I've got it to work now ..

for anyone who comes across the same problem, if you have multiple controllers attached to your pc, Starlancer will most likely have problems finding the right controller and therefore won't use any of them.

you have to unplug all gamecontrollers except the one you'll be using for SL and restart your pc. after that your joystick will work as it should in SL.

thanks to anyone who tried to help me.

  • thx for that info
for sure it will be useful
