  • first of all i want to introduce myself

i found CF a month ago and have not stopped playing since
(my wife hates it so i gotta love it)

    but now for my question

i have to reinstall my windows
    you know virusses and stuff

but now im afraid im going to loose all my chars and hard earned money

does anyone exactly know what files to save and how to store my chars

    pleas help

  • you can use this little batch program. it generates a reg file under c:\ this reg file must be saved somewhere else

after you did the reinstall just doppleclick on it and you have all your chars back

    here the tool: mp_id_sav.bat

  • or you could open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\[somefilename].hta and copy your ID from there ;)

  • i agree with Magnet.....just save your MP ID # ....write it down.....and you will never loose chars unless there's a character wipe for some reason.....or are you talking about singleplayer games?
