no .....vista version won't work on you're XP opperating system as far as i know....but maybe you could burn a cd on her pc?....I haven't tried that before.....is her Vista 32 bit or 64 bit OS ?
btw....that cpuid ....you just download and run it.....and it should tell you motherboard model and on memory tab should give you info on what's installed....a start at least -
OK well i ran the vista mem scan and it came out allright with no errors
so the memory is ok
my guess is that its just inadequite cooling
ill have to wait for my parents to give me a little money so i can buy another fanbut im still hanging my bets on the power supply
ill worry about that though if the fan turns out to be the problem -
I may have missed it...what psu are u using? I think you need at least a 450 watt psu with at least 28 amp to run a 3850 reliably
Edit...that card does run hot but....if you don't have good reliable psu....u will have issues.
Edit...also from what you told me that is probabaly an ASRock mobo...I don't know if you have latest bios...and I haven't checked....but what memory you said you had installed sounds correct....
So IMO psu is likely cause of issue....when gaming....I would add a bit of extra cooling tho anyways

the psu is 450w, and about 50 amps? i put a new fan in, im going to see if it made a difference

hmm...if you have that as power supply, and no issues with memory....seems very odd that you have problems. I would contact graphic card manufacture asap ad work through their diagnostic. If you arent able to load latest graphics drivers...you may have a bad card....it's not unheard of....but you should act fast if its a new card so you dont miss chance to rma the card if needed

sorry couldn't help myself:DThat's because underneath the "candy-like exterior" of the Xbox 360 lies nothing more than a slightly modified PC. Surprise, surprise. I will say this though, at least you can troubleshoot and fix your PC due to it being modular in nature hardware-wise and for most DIY'ers the software can be "fixed" as well.
The Xbox 360 on the other hand, becomes nothing more than a cute looking doorstop in most cases once you see the "red ring of death".
Oh yea, I take it you've fixed your problems R33, I saw you out on the server the other night, everything finally running OK?
