What is the number of the error message?
-
Vista?
-
Yes vista and theirs no number alls its says it that it cant establish a connection with the sever
-
firewall? CF started with admin privileges?
-
Its not the firewall tried with it turned off It still wont connect with runninng as admin
-
ever tried this Crossfire Patch 1.7a (clickme) ?
You know that the Launch Crossfire Multiplayer Button in the Launcher (the Program which is starting before the Game itself is starting) have to be active?
If you can give a yes to both above try this: CF Guide

router/ISP blocking access maybe? do you have a router?

Ok, I think this is the true solution since I have seen it often that this solves the problem
IV. Can't connect to any Server (Vista)
Norton, mcafee securityCenter or Kaspersky aren't allowed to be on your PC, deactivating them don't do it!, if you have Avast! you have to deinstall the NetworkShield.
You should eventual turn off IPv6 and give a static LAN IP Addresse in the IPv4. -
okay that last one (about IPv6) doesn't sound really right. If you have IPv6, you also have IPv4 - it's not like if you have ipv6 you lose all the ipv4 functionality etc.
also AFAIK all ipv4 addresses can be converted to ipv6 addresses
oh and another thing, XP since SP1 has ipv6 support too
QuoteMicrosoft provides supported IPv6 implementations for Windows Server 2003, Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later, and Windows CE .NET 4.1 or later.

Ok, that's just a thing I caught up but I am not sure about
But 90% of all vista users which cant connect can solve the problem by installing another antivirus
(That's a fact I am sure about) -
ye, but is AVG now on the death list?
-
Afaik yes - But please remember me for what AVG stands for?
-
AVG antivirus
-
AVG - Albtal Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH Karlsruhe
AVG - Allgemeines Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz
AVG - Angestellten-Versicherungs-Gesetz
AVG - Authentisierungs- und Verschlüsselungsgerät
AVG - Auvergne - Australien, Northern Territory (IATA AirportCode)
avg. - average (englisch), durchschnittlich, Durchschnitt -

I turned off IPv6 now i get a Error code 4 when i start launcher any suggestions? -
Turn it on again
And try by deinstalling your antivirus (dont forget to install a new one like avira antivir then! !)

The key to your problem is your antivirus. I run Vista and it took me forever to figure out what the true issue was. I uninstalled Norton 360 and am now using Avira Antivir (the free version). Using Avira you should have a much better connection.
Also, you will have errors now as the sever was recently upgraded and is not fully functional yet but more likely than not connection errors are not your fault.
