K but u didnt answer my questions.
I dont wanna start map until i have factions cause i cant figure out blasters tutorial,
and if that unknown castle can be a base? -
1. we cant tell you anything about those pdf files since they have absolutly nothing to do with FL or any of the supported games here
2. i have no idea what you want to do with factions or what is unclear there
3. what castle?
4. yes there are some very good ship creators here but they are busy working on SWAT projects -
one of [if not the] best ship makers just replied
-
K i understand thx.
And i will try to make ships myself even thiugh i find it confusing.
OP do u use Gmax? And how u make the NPC's so hard?
Ill try and get sceenshot of castle. -
OP [and almost everyone for that matter] uses Milkshape 3D
cos it's a low-poly [that's the way FL likes'em best] modeler & texturer w/ feature to export models for FreeLancer [hard to find for other programs]
oh and BTW he already said that

the tool u should use is milkshape 3d -
gmax can be used to model but to convert ships to cmp milkshape is needed
so the question is why should i use gmax if i have to use milkshape aswell... i could simply model in ms3d and save some steps
oh and the "strengh" of ships has nothing to do with modeling... its part of setting their stats and AI -

When adding ships to a mod were i put them? -
possible replies:
in a folder?
in a file?
in a system?
in a base?cmon - if we want to answer questions then we at least will need basic information about what you actually mean
-
For example if i wanted to move the nomad BS into new mod and make it appear on Explorer how would i do that
-
what explorer? like Windows Explorer?? then it's "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\SHIPS" for all ships. add "\NOMAD\NO_BATTLESHIP" for the Nomie BS [wow was that obvious or what?].
I'm left speechless. You know, you should start by actually looking in the game's folder to see what is what and what goes where, how and why...
It's like you wanted to mod the game, w/o actually ever playing it. Or like wanting to drive a car, w/o actually seeing one ever before. -
i think he means the freelancer exlorer
if so i need to disapoint you because the freelancer explorer is exclusivly for building systems (and that not in a very good way)
its better if you have a look at the ini files if you want to learn modding
to make a ship sellable you need to add a new good with a new [ship hull] and a new [packet] and add it to the base on the ship market filebtw. thers should be a tutorial on our tutorial section and a ship creating tutorial on our download area
-
If it isn't there, I have a copy of pretty decent tutorial on my HDD
-
K And yes i ment freelancer explorer.
Does the same thing apply when you gave the pirates ships through ini files. -
Many people wanting to mod Freelancer.
I still have to say it was the worst and most dangerous idea to try to merge Crossfire, Discovery and Freeworlds.
