Repairing Nanobots!?

  • Yesterday I was in Custodian, doing some stuff here and there and accidentally ALMOST flew into the minefield. I managed to stop and only lost my shield charge. "Ok moving on." :)
And then a Corsair formation spawned on me and tried to rip me in pieces. They even got to [and scratched] the hull (the shield wasn't completely back on). Well ok I killed them, nanobot-ed my ship and launched to Neutro Station.
When I docked, I opened the "Repair" panel and you know what I saw [never seen this before since 2005 when I started FL]? Ok I'll show you [notice the nanobots]:

See the Nanobots? I was like "WTF!??"

  • hehe, its clear for me - the nanobots took some damage as you was attacked.
they can repair your ship - but are not able to repair themselves.

  • No, I believe this is repair to nano's that were salvaged from the Corsairs' ships; this can happen when firing continued past the explosion of the target ship, especially when they are flying close together. I have seen it applied to ammo & bat's as well... I am perpetually in the habit of tractoring in all possible loot when hunting NPC's, so this is nothing new. 8)

  • oh... these damaged ones were the ones I looted. riiight..... ok then :) that means that nanobots aren't self destructing just cos I tend to send them out in radioactive environments :D
