  • Hello people!


    As TLR is down, I'll start to also use here to post things. Yeah, mostly questions coz I'm making a mod.


    Some questions:
    -How I can make NPC's don't attack, just flee when it sees an enemy, cruising away shooting CM flares? I'm asking this because I'll make scouts, weak and small ships.


    -How I change the engine color (ale editing)


    -How to make engines with different flying speeds.


    Also, I guess I'll need some beta-testers to my mod soon. If anyone is interested... I plan to release here the storyline and its features soon, and release the beta-version in the start of March.

  • i dont know about 1 or 2 , but with the engines do you mean throttle speed or cruise speed?


    about the cruise speed, it is not normally possible to have it differient for each ship, but i had an idea... (please dont steal it)


    set the cruise speed to something high like 10000, then give each engine a cruise power drain that is pretty high, more then any ships recharge rate. when the ship entered cruise, the power bar would go down at a fast rate, going completely out while the cruise charged. when the cruise started it would not have enough power to completely push the ship along at the cruise speed of 10000, it would slow down, depending on how much energy the engine required, differient cruise speeds could be produced. an interesting idea, i think. and i tested it.

  • No, I wanted flying (not cruising) speed. I mean, the vanilla speed is 79 m/s, and I want modify it, depending of which type of engine (LF, HF, VHF, FR) it is.


    Also I want know how I modify that NPC properties to military scouts...

    increase or decrease the number at the marked passage to ajust speed. (i think this one is the dagger.)

  • ill get back to you on it, and post a few values. but i dont thing that the force is the only one to consider, the speeds that i post will only work for one mass.

  • And considering I'm also modifying the mass of all ships, customizing according to the ship...

  • why dont you make a simple calculation?


    12000 = 80m/s
    x = 100m/s (or any other value)

  • when you definy an encounter you can also definy already existing ones such as scouts or assault
    those already have different AI settings and formations



    engine colors... well aint there different colors already?
    ale editing is a bit complicated and i dont really have the time to write tutorials

  • I need different engine colors, as I'm creating new houses.


    Think in a Kusari with Patriots and Rhinos, a Rhienland with Patriots and Rhinos, everything with Liberty ships. This would be boring, right?


    It's the same thing with the same engine flames. I need to add some variety in the new houses, as I can't create new planetscapes and other things.
