I tried to make another FL-account on another Windows-user. But when i launch Crossfire it creates the same ID as on the other user. Even on a different computer i get the same Multiplayer-ID when i install Freelancer, and manually changing the ID it doesnt work either.
Any ideas what i could do about it? (apart from trashing the PCs and buy a Mac, which wouldnt help in this case anyway)

What was the outcome - a solution for publicity?
It seems like vista doesnt offer a solution, so we used account IDs from XP 
she was getting the same mp ids on vista machine, regardless she made new users?
Ah another player with 300 characters....lovely. What happened to the days when people only used 5 characters.

yes. the same happened to me when i did a completely clean install => the same ID

wait lemme count... magnet, fastlane, blackout, firefly. comes to 4.
add the maybe-sometime-in-the-future mc_cheeser battleship and store that-i-don't-have-a-name-for-yet equals 6 in total.
interesting... it should create different ids for different users. ahh, well, vista - suckz.
well if you do a clean install you ALWAYS are able to write in ANY ID [e.g. "MAGNETISOHSOCOOL-WOOT-1337"]
