Another irritating newcomer with foolhardy questions

    I have searched through the board for the last hour and found nothing that helps yet.


    When I go to FLMM and try to activiate the CF mod, half way through it stops and tells me....


    Error: problem activating 'Crossfire Mod 1.70 Client Edition'
    Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire1.70\EXE\MSINET.OCX' to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\MSINET.OCX')


    I laugh wearily and then drink some more JD and coke.


    I am running Vista ;( at the moment.


    What couls i do... also if you have a solution tell me like you would an infant so i can't mess it up.

    Hey folks,


    I have the same problem. And I 2 am running Vista. I've been trying to figure this out all day! Argh... Anyway I am no closer to a solution atm, so if anybody has an idea, i'm all ears!


    BTW: I am starting to think this might have to do with the mod manager rather than the mod. I'll try to look into this later.

    a clean installation of FL is needed
    and FLMM 1.31 (no other version)

    i had this issue to begin with i uninstalled everything to do with FL including FLMM, and downloaded the lot from here using a fresh FL install


    it worked

    You have to run FLMM as administrator (Vista users) this maybe one of the causes. Right click on the FLMM shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".
