Ive the feeling that the traveler is nothing but a terraforming machine developed by a different species. Im not even sure if it interacts with other species at all. Sure it deployed the ghosts but that also could be just a self defence mechanism. As far i was able to gather information the traveler also visited the homeworld of the fallen just like it did with the humans... with pretty much the same results. First a golden age and then destruction because of the darkness which follows the traveler. In the end the traveler moved on leaving the fallen behind. If I were a guardian in that game universe my highest priority would be establish contact with the fallen since their civilization was not much different from ours. All they seem to want is to reestablish their civilization with the help of the traveler. I see a potential ally in them.
