  • ppl, u must understand that freelancer is UDP software, not a TCP one. there is a distinct difference between those two, and in simple terms it can b explained as: server doesn't wait for packet acknowledgment from client, since it doesn't have to deal with such information, because of engine architecture. typical TCP is starlancer multiplay, and ppl who played it know what means to have a bad conn while on it. therefore, fl server doesn't suffer from bad connections of certain players, even if…

  • ofc, m8. but since u will build 1.8 using the same premises as in 1.7, i guess u could simply use any error info u can get. just take a look at the logs for the server and u'll notice if something is going wrong, in a few seconds.
  • ok, no calling names now... r u sure those errors r because of ppl 1.7e clients? is there any simple way u can check that, op? crashes happened before 1.7e patch too, ofc. but i wasn't too much online to be reporting those... u can ask other players, they will confirm it. i'll continue reporting this crashes when i experience them. the last crash i experienced (ppl say there were more of them, but i wasn't online) was today at: 2:55 pm gmt

  • op, it wasn't running fine, it was crashing before cf1.7e got out too. just ask anybody from server police, if u don't believe me, i wasn't online all the time. anyway, another crash report: 10:22 am gmt btw, op, it could help if u would name specific files on client installation that could get server down, whatever comes to ur mind 1st. or better not, since that could b misused too...
