I think u should right click on the the Fl icon and set the compatiblity settings.
AND
Go to the game folder then in EXE folder, right click on cfwd and set the compactibllity.

Have u turned on the advanced shader?
If yes, then turn it off( u gotta uninstall everything).

There might be errors in your installation.
If u play MP then make sure u have the id number.
If not then cross your fingers and and uninstall everything and install everything again.
The number should still be there if u dont do anything else.
Just copy the number that comes up when u click play multiplayer.

WHy dont my shields get deavtivated when i eject some useless cargo?

Maybe your AV does not let u.
It find a file that it thinks is a virus and deletes it mid-download and since not all the files are present, therefore it cannon append those files to one folder.

ok now back to the story.
I was thinking of an entirely new race which actually comes to save US(weird)
Now that alien race is friendly and has better tech than all the races(or so it seems)

Later, humans find out that they were actually supposed to be servants of that new alien race just like the nomads are now but they changed their minds.
They team up with the DK and begin a war with the other alien races.
But reinforcements arrive(yes the galaxy gates start to work again) and the DK are nearly wiped out.
They are asked to go to the more peaceful places in the universe.
Now its all up to Humans and that race(we need to think of a name for now well refer to it as the RACE).
odds are overwhelming but hope is not lost.
The DK have ordered the nomads to become friendly with the humans and the RACE.
They are now mustering their forces.

The race has its bases in all the Friendly DK systems which sell ships and uber weps.
The war has taken a new turn and hardcore dogfights are a regular sight.

Now this story has some conflicting parts like ancients.
