I've noticed that Crossfire seems to have quite a few references scattered about, and was just wondering which of these you guys noticed?

The main ones that hit me (and I'm amazed I only noticed it now) are the Daedalus and Helios systems - Daedalus and Helios are both references to the first (and best) Deus Ex, or at least unintentionally refer to it

Try the linkscanner thing first... dual-booting is a tad inconvenient at times, and you don't really need Linkscanner unless you're in the habit of clicking on the first thing you see in google
Plus that would require me to locate my XP disc, no mean feat XD

Hmm had the same problem as Exiler. Tried uninstalling AVG, restarting, then re-installing without the linkscanner and updating - CF still seems to work (I can re-join at last! ).

After trolling through forums, best I can make out is that it has something to do with TDI layer protection in Vista, which apparently has only been implemented in AVG recently.

AVG free doesn't have a firewall... the only thing I can think of that might have an effect is LinkScanner

BTW I have the same problem
