I want to reinstall CF 1.7, but have been waiting for 1.8 as many others have. I know SWAT is busting his butt working on it but........at this point are we looking at a couple months yet before release of 1.8, in which case I will happily reinstall 1.7. (please don't flame too much; it's an honest question)[99]

Typically, how long does loot stay with hidden wrecks after you have blasted the wreck and left it float in space? My ship is small and I take all I can fit, sell it, and return as fast as I can. But it's gone. Is there a way to eject some of my other stuff to make room?

I have since landed at a dozen stations and have had no problems. If I do, I will post. I don't know if this was rotate related or not.

I've probably installed CF 15 times, as it's so damn finicky. Either that, if you want to change one of its options, you have to start all over. You've been there, I'm sure! ;)
I sort of feel like a CF install expert now. ;)

    1) no
    2) yes - I've installed this many times :(
    3) vanilla

I'm still checking. I've since disabled use of rotation and am checking if that does the trick

I thought this was due to having the unofficial FL patch installed, but apparently not, as I re-installed. At certain bases, the commodity prices don't show up. I click to talk to the guy, but there are no prices - nothing. :(

Thanks for answering that. I saw the key to "enable rotation" and thought maybe I was doing something wrong. How do most of you all drive? I fly from a first person perspective and use mouseflight. I guess I got so used to that from vanilla FL that using the click-drag method seems too wierd for me to use. Isn't it hard to use click-drag in a dogfight? That's where I thought the rotation would be sweet - trying to lose your opponents.

That's my point. I don't like to use click and drag when in combat. I like my ship to move when I move the mouse, without holding down the left mouse button. Why doesn't rotation work in this mode?

If I play CF in singleplayer, in the story mode, will I see any game differences? Can I go to the new systems and get the new ships to use in story mode?
