    I am sorry if I upset you by brining this topic up again, but I was not aware of other discussions you have had that amounted to a solution.


    All I saw was discussions without any proposed solution ( just whining ), so I proposed a possible solution.


    I know you have a custom version of FLHOOK, that is why i mentioned what I saw in 1.6.6.


    If you guys run into time problems, I can offer my services for your help.

  • Run CF under Oracle Virtualbox

    Just a notice .. I can successfully run CF under Oracle Virtualbox 4.0.6 r7.


    You just need to enable the 3D accelleration in the virtual machine settings, and then in the Guest OS, set the Display Adapter to 'Virtualbox Graphics Adapter' and NOT the 'VGA Adapter', then Shut down the Vistual Machine and Restart it.


    After installing the Freelancer, and Crossfire, Start FL, and it will complain about a 3D card and shut down. Restart the Vistual machine again at this point, and after that, FL plays well without any problems.

    I have read a few places on the forum about BMG types and RP License types, especially BMG and Smuggler License


    This is just a suggestion (or more of a question as I am not on the modding team, and I have no idea what code has been written for the custom FLHook for CF)


    Looking at the latest FLHook1.6.6 code, there seems to be a function that is called whenever any commodity is purchased (ReqAddItem(unsigned int p1, char const *p2, int p3, float p4, bool p5, unsigned int p6))


    This code checks for item mounting on ships, as well as item restrictions.


    It seems that these item restrictions are in an ini file that get's loaded by the loadsettings() of the FLHook and then whenever any commodity is purchased, the restrictions of the items are checked.


    It seems to associate Items with a mountpoint, and as the License is on such a point, maybe it's possible to create a list of 'gooditems', read the Currrently mounted Items and see if the specific license that the items is good with, is mounted, then allow purchase ?

    The Heavy fighters behave like light fighters, they fire missiles and guns at cruise speed, and they seem much harder to kill (shields and hull seems more resistant)

    I am sorry i started this threat.


    I stated an opinion, and I used a screenshot as an example, no idea it's going to get to a p*ss*ng contest about who is right and who is wrong and who thinks what.


    I think we are all old enough to know most of the obvious statements in all the posts. What I did not know is that such a fragile anti-cheating system is in use that most people doubt it's conclusions.


    Thanks for all the posts and reactions. Learning every day.

    Daywalker... I totally agree with you.


    A cheat is a cheat.


    I am quite new around here and have only logged 291 hours online, but NEVER was I booted deut to a 'detected possible cheat', nor have i seen any PX, SMG or SA members being booted for the same reason.


    So a guy being booted +11 times, or even 2 or > 2 times in a short inteval for possible cheat..there is definitely something wrong.

    It was really a great demonstration of different human groups and factions working together with allies for the greater good of all, forgetting about internal squabbling and politics.


    I think there were not two spacecraft the same as well, so great collection of hardware.

  • I hate people trying out new cheats

    I know people play many games, and sometimes they have the wrong game configuation loaded, but then sometimes you get people that seems to see which cheats are caught by the anti-cheating system and which not.


    These people should be banned for live , ( their FL ID banned, and also their IP addres noted to see what other FL ID's they are playing with)


    IP Address Bans will not work as there are places in the world ( like with us here in South Africa), where we get assigned a new IP address every 24 hours)



    this person has also tried another 2 -3 times previously that I have not even screencaptured
