    I think he means more dockable planets in systems.. at least.. I hope thats what he means! :D


    On this, I will vote 'Yes'.. what I'd like to see is more dockable planets in the systems we already have too.. meaning, we have a lot of dead planets already.. like Hannover in Hamburg or Aachen in Stuttgart..


    I think it will open up new trade routes to have some of our current 'dead' planets to be dockable.. and I think it can only improve roleplay on the server..

    All I can say is.. my decision was based on the current situation. I've been following this whole mess because whatever happened over there did have some effect on SWAT.. and it still does, to a certain degree.. as it affects you, OP.. and you are, after all, the heart of SWAT.


    But I don't think that should be the case anymore. And yes, if circumstances in the future change for the better, I don't see why SWAT can't make other decisions based on those changes.. but right now, I feel like our efforts at diplomacy have been violated and abused..


    At the present time, TLR is undeserving of our sympathy. They don't deserve our help either, and its obvious they don't want our help anyway.


    I think we should concentrate our efforts on developing and strengthening SWAT.. we don't need to worry about what TLR is doing anymore, since they have basically imploded (at this point, on more than one occasion).


    Players, old and new, are at the very least, frustrated with these constant re-incarnations of TLR.. not one of which, resembles anything like the old site. So, those people will move on to other communities, including ours, to get what they need as gamers. I don't think we have to worry about that either..

    If you've played many Freelancer mods before, M8, then how can you be a newcomer to role play? Do other mods have no role play? Seriously, I'm asking cause I've never played any other mod but Crossfire..


    But the point here is to have fun. You can be whatever your heart desires.. smuggler, cop, pirate, mercenary, or none of these, if you want to strictly stick to trading..


    Yes, we have clans in Crossfire. And no, you are not required or forced to join any of them. Doesn't mean they won't try to recruit you sooner or later, but a polite 'no thanks' is all thats required if you are not inclined to join.. you can be just as successful as a freelancer or a member of a clan.


    PVP is a large part of the fun on our server, and some players will provoke you just to have PVP.. but again, it is your choice to engage in PVP. The other major fun is the events.. we have server-wide ASF/CSF, which is a week-long event. You can read more about it here in our forums. Theres also the Nomad Hunt, Total Death Match, Top Gun, Race events & my personal favorite, Smuggler Hunt.


    I dont know what you mean by league.. but we are all friends here (outside of our role play, of course).


    Ingame chat isn't really silent M8.. if you've not been here long, I guess it can seem that way. We usually like to let new players get acquainted with CF in peace and find their way around. Of course, if you have questions, just ask anyone in-game and we'll be glad to help.


    BTW, if you get lonely, just strike up a conversation with one of us.. we'll talk, believe me!


    As for aims, well, that depends on what you want to do.. Do you want to be the richest guy on the server? The best cop? Or a corrupted one? The player with the most frags? The most feared pirate in space? The merc with the most contracts? Or the most elusive smuggler to hit Sirius?


    The role play and the goal is yours to choose...


    And CA is right, exploring all the different systems is half the fun too..

    Are you opening/ running 'As Administrator' ? That's usually necessary for playing Crossfire from a Vista platform.. I also have Vista OS and I always have to run it 'As Administrator'.. ;)

    Dude.. seriously.. why in the hell would someone want to try a takeover of TLR??? We've got everything we need right here already..


    You may have some sentimental love for what used to be, but things change M8.. sometimes drastically.. and not for the better.


    The SWAT community has seen what kind of back-stabbing, asinine jerks the people at TLR have become, and some of us believe we don't need to be tainted by TLR anymore.


    So, you just do whatever you think you have to do.. but, this thread is about what SWAT is gonna do.. and it ain't about trying to salvage the empty shell of TLR..


    The decision at hand is how we will deal (or not deal) with them from now on.. and it doesn't include 'what ifs'..


    Sorry M8.. I know this is probably a bit harsh.. but whatever they get now, TLR has had coming for a long, long time.. and truthfully, SWAT didn't create their problems.. and we ain't gonna keep trying to fix them either.. that time is OVER.

    I'm in with the rest of the #3s..


    1) I don't think they deserve relations with SWAT, given their past and current actions.


    2) CA is right, they are a walking corpse whose only claim on the real TLR (the old one) is the name.


    3) I have a tremendous problem with the fact that Mental has former TLR HACKERS working on his site. This could be dangerous for SWAT and any community that has relations with them..


    4) Refusing to acknowledge TLR will eliminate a ton of stress and aggravation to you, OP, and SWAT can only benefit from that..


    5) And not seeing another goddamned thread about those idiots will be a wonderful exclusion to the SWAT Forums.

    Well.. looks like to me, at this point OP, you can wash your hands of TLR and keep a good conscience.


    You did what you could to try to help them.. offered advice and resources.. a f**king server even.. and the end result of all your efforts? Banned!


    Your conscience should be clear that you did everything you could.. if Mental is determined to go his own way, then there is nothing to be done about it.

    But the other program Slayer mentioned is Webroot.. just a mis-spell.. and I totally agree with him.. Webroot is an excellent program too.

    EDIT: In looking at this site again, though, the minimum sys requirement is Windows 2000, XP or Vista, so I don't think this one will work for you either :(
