I remember how frustrating it was to get your ship in the hangar of a station, rotating as the station in Odyssey movie... until I discovered the key combo to make entering a station automatic !

hummm, " killed by NPC's ", what do you mean by that ? ... in wich context ?
Do you mean a sort of suicidal action by letting you on purpose killed by a NPC ? or in other situations where you are trying to complete a mission, trying to get out a nasty system with lots of npcs ?
Many trains takes a suicidal route to the sun just to restart quickly at they start planet, is it that kind of action you have in mind ? or more in RP situations ?
