I seem to remember having seen a 1394 showing on my network adaptors in the past, thing was at the time i was having major network issues..i.e i couldnt share the network with other pc's or it would share but be inconsistant like kept going off showing limited or no connectivity (on the card that was going to the switch) or i couldnt online on mine...i ended up doing a fresh install of winbloze and the 1394 was gone and all network was working as it should have been, its wierd when i get a windoze problem a new network adapter shows up out of the blue and the network is pretty much none existant, had this a couple of times until i used a different cd to install

Very well said and very true OP, i think we all have to sit back and have a think about all of it, as you say for things to work all have to play thier part and do what they are supposed to do and if they dont yep it falls apart, prime example is SL, not pointing any fingers or bad mouthing anyone we joined for a reason and were proud to do so and are STILL proud to wear that tag, no offence has been meant to anyone and if it has been taken then i do appolagise, the main thing we are lacking and ALL calns must do to make things work is COMUNICATE and get involved in things that are happening, without that vital comunication and active involvement in 4 weeks or so this is what has happened so i think everything OP has said is right on the mark not just for the command chain but us aswell, i will add 1 more thing to Gust on this and say no more of it...Not every comment or suggestion has been a complaint and the topics that were repeated were simply brought up again and again to try and push things along no flaming no bitching just trying to pull us together a bit

the clan would still exist if we hadnt decided to leave without notice actually Warlock had made a NOD post in the SL forum and had not left and considering there was no request to be playing at any point during the last few days when i hadnt been on (actually i have been on a few times in the early hours when there has only been a few other players on doing some trading......and so has warlock as you have seen Gust) i havent said that i have deleted any of my chars and as of yet niether has warlock the idea was to give it a few days and see if any contact indicating an interest in carrying on was made which didnt happen, all we got was a mail today regarding recruits/trainee's status and less than 2 hours later this thread.....kinda says it all

Well as for the part about we dont know what its like think again as i have told you before, second to that if no comments aka bitching was made then none of the topics i feel would have had anything at all said about them.
as for the 'bitching' now i am not doing so at all i am meerly stating my thoughts and those of another.
Blood we have spoken about the issues and it has already been agreed that the circumstances are in no-ones control and the topic ended there apart from the fact that we helped ppl get stuff sorted out and where not seen again.
I am not trying to intimedate or bitch at anyone just using this opertunity to air the views of myself and warlock. The reason i havent been on is that i have seen no point in it as when i HAVE been on the only other members were warlock and Gust and seeing that Gust at the time was the only one available to recruit new members and myself and warlock the ones to 'show them the ropes' with the addition of warlock not being able to play as stated on SL forum i wasn't ready to take on any contracts or fly arround on my own getting constantlly killed if i did have the opertunity to take on a contract as i think you all know well i am not good in a pvp situation, and being that we were told a lot of time would be spent in pvp training with other clan members it was going nowhere, yes others were and are willing with the pvp but obviously not all the time as they have thier own RP tasks to do.
If you wish to view anything i have said as bitching then fine by me but i am just telling my thoughts as i have done in the past for me and for worlock but then that was all bitching too i suppose. as for continuation of the clan well that all goes back to having members to be able to do it with.....oh btw if the clan forum was open none of this would have been said here for everyone to see it would have been kept in the right place but then again it would only have been taken as if i am complaining......jeez its a game if i dont like it and constantly complain why bother playing at all, if complaint or comments are never made then things do fall apart im sure in other clans if someone has something to say then they say it and its not always taken as a complaint but a valid point of view. Oh yeah i did make a complaint about 1 thing in particular and that wasnt just from me either but hell i'll stop bitching now n go play snakes n ladders........

Well as there is no longer access to the SL forum that i was going to leave a joint post on from myself and Warlock i will state my views here....

Over the last moth or so since we joined SL myself and Warlock have been disapointed with the clan in several ways of which the main reasons were stated on the SL forum so i wont o into too much detail here....
We have been in discussion for some days as to whether or not to continue with the clan...the main reason being just about all we have done since joining (apart from a contract or 2) is escort our own new/returning members to get ships and equipment (escort yes not supply them), and once we have escorted these players they seem to have disappeared of the face of the earth not to be seen again and this did not happen just the once. Adding to that the discussion as to which side to join (ASF/CSF) never took off at all after the first post in the forum and without taking part in this part of the RP there is NO space on the server for a merc clan as has been said before, ok one or two assisnation contracts in retribution to other clans being attacked but in now way full stop is that going to keep a whole clan on its toes, now I say whole clan.....there has been no whole clan from the start, members have come on maybe just got a ship and some equipment and gone... or not come on at all..of the 22-23 members registered on the forum i have seen all of 5!!! of them 1 being myself, Warlock, Gust and the others that we helped to get started, Gust yes i know has said on several occasions that he has had pc problems but still managed to partake in one certain contract.....other than that all i have seen do is sit in Telosis, one time we were moaned at for not seeing an intruder, the next i was the 1 to point out an intruder whilst Gust was on and asked him to deal with it as i had no ship nearby at the time..........another time we were told not to expect an answer as he was reading a book....hows that for taking part not to mention sitting idle on the server and breaking stated server rules
As a final word it seems to me that myself and Warlock (if you do not know by now is my father) have wasted an awfull lot of time and effort with creating new characters and equiping them when we changed from freelance to clan and now those characters have no use and must be deleted in accordance with the server rules of not being in a clan anymore or face being kicked/banned and i for 1 am sorry but i will not being creating new char's and spending hours and hours rebuilding them from scratch again.
OP you did do a damn fine job in the building and updating of this mod along with your team and i hope you carry on with it, i have taken part in a few discussoins on this forum and more than likely will still do so, ok some have been to bitch about things but in the end we just all get on with it and play...
Maybe sometime in the future i will play on crossfire again but for the time being i will not, thanks to all those that have had polite well intentioned conversation and for the in game help especially to Dopple, you not too far away m8 i'll come n visit you soon

TBH m8 looking back at some of your posts and how u've spoke to ppl in game i thought i was a bit outta place n didnt seem like you....

Wavey its not a dig at the SP's m8 i was just pointing out that this may be considered by some as camping i know they sit in systems for a long time and while doing so they are helping people out or carrying out admin related tasks and i dont have a problem with it at all, in fact i have sat next to 2 admin for a while in NY and been having convo's with them, 1 in particular that has helped me with gameplay bassically since day 1 i have nothin bad to say about the SP at all

trading in NY not leaving the system i am told is considered as camping, so for those that are staying in NY trading between man + pitts are considered to be camping although my deffinition of thge term is staying in the same spot doing absoluetly nothing for hours on end which i am sorry to say i have only seen SP do but then again they cant be called campers because mostly at the time there are in conversation either with thier clan members or are helping newcomers out, so my view is that whether or not you are in any system and do not leave that system and are either trading or otherwise you are seen to be a camper obviuosly RP and events is another situtation...moral of the story is change between system on a regular basis or be labelled camper unless participating in RP or server event....

Sorry gust but my reply to that is where are the mercs that can take the jobs?? one clan that was mercs changed thier RP becuase they had no jobs to do, other freelancers i have seen with merc licenses have either made another clan that are not mercs or have joined the current server clans, at the moment the only available merc that is available to take the task on is yourself

starting funds of 150k are enough to buy and equip a ship capable of defending against a shroud etc that has multiple ppc's tizona's missiles/torps etc??????, i think not.....go make a new char and buy 1 of the available ships on manhattan equip it and take on a pirate in thier VHF and see how long you last, i'll give you 10 seconds maybe a few more if you use bots/bats then be called a coward for using them and be branded with the title of a 're-loader'.
No not all pirates will tax/attack a low level player but it does happen and again it is by the few 'cowards'. I will say this tho... 2 days ago i was on the server with the player list open to contact someone and a kill came up i forget the names but i had a look to see where the kill was as i was OUTSIDE NY transporting equipment for someone so i could avoid the area as is was a pirate kill and was disgusted to see that the player killed was a lowly level 4.....i mean jesus christ how sad is that......
Come on as soon as OP enabled the pvp in NY and left the pirates were straight back in NY to take advantage and yes they where over level 60 and yes they stayed there fo some time and as Dopple stated in his reply the shit has already hit NY with taxing of a level 18 player, ok maybe GIG hasnt read the server rules or his clans policy, maybe everyone should alt+f4 out every 5 minutes to check on the rules as this seems to be the only way we can keep up with them, but honestly can you see new players knowing where to go as soon as they come on the server not everyone plays through the original or CF in SP before they jump online to play hell i know i didnt

As was said before m8 soon as it happens that pvp is enabled in NY pirates will start taxing the n00bs, number 1 the are new to the server i.e. getting to grips with what is what and seeing who is who not knowing who the pirates are so they don't know who to avoid if possible, number 2 taxing 10m on a level 18 player well that really says it all, my answer to that is how do they think a level 18 player has 10 mil to pay tax from my experience of new char's dropping 10 mil on it takes the level over 40 (42 i think cant remember) so obviously a level 18 player is going to have nothing like that amount of money, number 3 should a level 18 player be taxed even 100k that greatly reduces thie abilty to get started in trading and get into the game so they are more than likely to get over frustrated and give up within a short period of time...finally if those newbies have read up on the rules and know about the taxing etc and decide 'no i have just started i am going to loose all my funds as soon as i start payin tax' and refuse to pay it they are killed and well bugger me if they are killed twice hah 0 funds available so either way they cant win therefore they decide not to bother, seems to me that the reason for this is to stop newbies joining the server and getting to know the game as how it has been changed gives them no chance at all ok so maybe they may have some help from CFPD and mercs but mercs expect a payment for thier trouble and where are they going to get that money apart from trading and on top of that CFPD and other policing clans will mor than likely not want to hang arround in NY all the time to offer the protection.
This is not just about the stores and risk of loosing hours of work an hundreds of millions of credits this is about fair game play to newbies that want to play the game sit back and think about it for a sec- 2 kills on a newbie and they are bankrupt now who is going to make new char's over and over again just on the off-chance that there is not a pirate nearby so the can actually start playing properly????? thanks but no thanks i have 2 more char's that i was waiting to to build up but at this point why bother looks like they are going nowhere
