Hey Marauder.

I hope you don't mind, me joining your journey back to the wides of the CF-Universe after being absence for a while.
My veines carry rum (and a little blood). My heart is crying for plundering and raiding innocent vessels floating lost in space, trying to find a save route to make some cash.
My fingertips are triggerhappy and eager to release the deadly projectiles, heading toward some law enforcement vessels fuel tank to bring up an enormous explosion, visible across several systems.

But other than that, Im fine.

Just don't fly around and run wild, shooting everyone you see. (Exeption of that may be, if they have a pirate license mounted)

And this person is more mad with himself, than frustrated for whatever reason. Otherwise he would not have invested that much effort, just to complain about a fairly simply installable mod (if you can read).
He just don't know how to use common sense and read properly so his only solution is to insult and offend people he does not even know nor has he/she (or whatever it is) had any interaction with anyone responsible for the mod development.

My daughter (Hadley Elisabeth-Ann) was born on February 12th at 10:28pm, via c-section (2 weels before due date)
She is healthy and so is her mother.
This is the literally MOST amazing feeling in the world. Holding your own child in your arms, the first time ever.

Sorry that I can not really be that much online as I'm used to. But as soon things are running "normal" I will be back more often.

Times are quite tough right now (well, they are tough since I moved to the US)
But this is going to be my day, even my (still baking) wife does not make it easier.
little more than 4 weeks left until I can hold my daughter in my arms and my wife hopefully goes back to her own self.

But I'm also working on having more time to be online more often on CF.
I showed presence occasionally, but not as much as I would like to.

Just to give you guys a little heads up.

So far things flip totally upside down.
I got a job since the week of 4th of july and still work there.
Last week we got surprised and figured out that my wife is pregnant. We got told 6 weeks (according to the bloodwork)
Last TUESDAY (oct. 9th) we had an appointment for an ultrasound and got SHOCKED (in a good way)

She is not 6 weeks pregnant, but already more than 4 month.
So since we did miss half the pregnancy and just got told that we are going to have a little daughter at the end of february 2013
A lot of things is happening all at once.

So please don't think I dont care for CF anymore or I don't want to show more presence.
I would love to be online more often and also to keep SMG alive.
We are not dead, just really occupied in real life with things, we never thought they would happen, since we tried for 5 years in Germany but nothing happend.

I can not speak for the entire SMG, but for me.

It's not that easy to settle in a new country on a different continent. And its surely not done within a few weeks.
I'm used to be online (on the server) a lot, but since I moved from Germany to the USA 4 month ago, it happend that I have to focus on getting familiar with the new enviroment and settling.
Working my butt off, 45-60/hours a week, started as regular sales associate and now being in discussion to become assistant manager already.

If it was too many, then you are "lucky" and you are permitted to wear the GMG tag for as long your ship is alive.

and the GMG affiliation you have now might be the GMG2 affiliation and not the one from the GMG which is flying around in sirius.
the GMG 2 are those who own the research facility in dervon but the faction itself does not fly around (got "removed" month ago)

and why did you bribe the coalition rogue? too weak to kill coalition until you get the coal rogue affiliation ? c'mon it only takes about 300 coalition to kill to get the rogues affilitation and it saves a lot of cash

thats why my char has no problem in sirius, docking anywhere and selling pods or whatever.

vishnu's advice might work but it will take you a dang long time, since there are barely any missions available in dervon.
and it does not only affect the GMG (actually GMG2)
once you get the GMG2-affiliation you are most likely stuck to it.

Escape pods you are supposed to sell at prison stations (Texas, Manchaster, Alaska are the closest systems with prisons)

The equipment itself does not protect you from getting hurt. You have to use it and shoot back at the opponent ; ) j/k
It will take a bit practise but you will get used to, how to handle the npc's. Just don't give up after dying a few times.
It's a game after all.

I have a very plausible reason for being absence so long.
Since I'm currently settling in the USA (after moving from Germany to the USA about 3 month ago) I still try to get online when I can.
But such a move is not made within 2 days and the enviroment, life and circumstances are completely new, which also needs a bit time to adjust to it.

Most of you guys know my activity on the server and I'm going back to it as well I will get more active on the forum, maybe not that fast as I thought it would be but I've been online the last days occasionally, as far as my time does allow it.
Hopefully I wont be taken into that bulk of people being removed from their "positions" due to inactivity.
But the decission is not up to me.

I clearly vote for NOT returning the "favor".
FIrst it would not change the "situation" at all and second it would just feed the trolls.
People who don't have arguments or can not express their opinion in a "normal" way will always take such action to pretend not to be the "only ones" who are thinking "bad" about something.

Same experience I got when the Crossfire community groups got introduced and I made the one for SMG
One bad rating right after the SMG group was created. I could place a bet on who it was, but for what? It just shows me (personally) that some people are really "desperate".
Another thing is the "rating" for other peoples posts, if you don't like the person or you dont understand it or whatever, you most likely tend to downrate everything you can only to show "how bad it is".

If people get a chance to vote for or against something, to rate things up or down, they will always use it. And some will always try to make a rating worse with fake accounts only to make it look more bad.
And if someone needs to create fake accounts in order to make more rates, they must be really desperate and/or have too much time and too less ability to use their brain before taking such action.

But thats only my personal opinion.

you won't lose your knowledge about:
- where to get equipment
- how to fly/rob successfully
- how to have fun
- ect...

just saying.

I joined SMG after flying 4 years without any clan tag.
Stats and maps are about the only things you lose when redoing chars.
Cash, equipment and knowledge you keep almost entirely.

Pirates may attack their chosen victims, before even asking for any tax. BUT ONLY to take down their shield. NOT to destroy them first and then demanding tax.

On the other hand, look at it in a sporty way and consider it to be a malfunction of the weapon system. He might just have wanted to take down the shields, but the weaponry mounted on his vessel was in a bad mood and didn't stop shooting until the total destruction.

Where are the people who see things in a fun way, instead of starting to complain about incidents happen (if first time).

I can take a look at this bad pirates behaviour and when I see him online, I will have a talk with him.

I really wish, I would have i-net connection at my house. So I could kick some uninvited pilots out of my beautiful home..

I arrived savely on may 31st.
So far i got no i-net connection at home, so i might just have to stay in touch with people via Android.
