it seems a few of you are finally grasping the idea that CF is about RP.....i think the rental of Sov is a fantastic idea with this imind. the police will have acces, to what i consider, the best ships in the game - and the unlawfulls wont. you will have to fight you way through to get what you want rather than have it at your disposal. doesnt that fit with unlawfull RP?! pirates will have to do thier RP to gain what they desire, and the law enforcers will be doing thier RP by trying/succeeding/failing to stop you.
to quote a line that sticks in my head - "sounds like fun".
sov is an awfully big system to get chased around
let the games begin
-
listen to what the barmen have to say in sovetskaya's stations, they will tell you where you need to go next. i think the first one you need to talk to is in the destroyer near gate.

ffs burro turn your keyboard off

the hulk

dont ask - dont get
bare in mind ive lost 1.1bil in the last 7 days to market scammers and rats too, so ive got my own gtc's to pay foor too
-
you never asked^^
-
you can use a time card straight away, it doesnt come into effect until your free trial period comes to the end. atm i have around 2bil isk in escrow sales - ie sales orders on the market. when i have the money from the sales ill be able to help ppl out with gtc's.
you will have to be patient tho as im trying to get my own POS up and running too (POS - player owned station = space station).
-
also those the download the trial from steam can also get 21 days free trial instead of the normal 14^^
-
the high sec POS will be located in Brappeille, due to the ice field there, even tho i havent got a gallente tower!! i have a Dark Blood/True Sansha/Domination setup, so ill be ice mining to sell and importing the correct fuels stuffs.
Im starting out with 3 mobile labs so there is plenty or research slots available, i can offer collateral to a certain extent. but as you know me im sure it wouldnt be a trust issue with me stealing billions worth of BPO's.it will be heavily defended due to an 11 corp alliance threatening to war dec us all the time, coz i destroyed one of thier faction fit Ravens!
in my pvp fit myrmidon of all things!!
anyway get back to me regarding what you are willing to pay for researching, Az.

ive recently set up an alt account that has specifically designed to be a miner, while my main character undertakes agent missions.
i should be in a mining barge within a week now after upping all 11 learning skills to lvl 3 + 4. and using spare implants from my stores to boost my attributes, aswell as buying the highwall implants for increases mining yield. i will be using a retriever while my mining char trains up to a covetor and a hulk.
as an experiment i decided to outfit my megathron battleship for mining. it works rather well. i have 7 t2 mining lasers in the highs, 4 cap charger 2's in the mids, 4 cpu enchancers and 3 mining upgrades in the lows. 5 mining drones. with my current skills i am gettinga yield of 928m3 per minute of ore. not bad considering a retriever only just outdoes this.
combine this with my alts hauler fitted with a t2 mining laser too and my yield goes to over 1000m3 per minute.
it takes just under 30 minutes for me to fill a jetcan and means i can earn betwenn 8-10mil per hour from mining in a 0.9 system.
easy way to make money but not what i would call exiting!!
considerng i can make double that running lvl4 missions^^ -
Lord Ozu
-
heres an easier way to lose money:
buy 200mil worth of weapons to sell in another region...set course for return trip....not realise you enter a low security system.....booooooooom....damn pirates!!!!
ahhh i can hear Az scoffing and chuckling already!!
im now officially a billionaire Az
and setting up a high sec POS for bp researching. i will be hiring out slots for use so let your corp know.

Starting out in EVE online
You start off in EVE by downloading and installing your 14 day free trial, after which you can fully activate your account if you decide to continue playing.
The first thing you must do is configure your character, not only how he/she looks but also your race, bloodline, tribe, character base profession and apply skill points to various attributes of your characters mental prowess. These are important and need careful consideration before final application because they affect the speed that various skills are learnt in EVE.
Here is a description of the races and various bloodlines in EVE:
http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=182Choose wisely as it will affect everything you do in EVE.
You can even customise the way your character looks in the initial stages of setting up your account.
You can appoint bonus skill points to certain attributes and basic skills when setting up your character.
Decide which route you want to take in EVE before character creation
As a reference my character is Gallente race with Gallente bloodline, and has been setup up to be an all-round character, good at most things and great at none but bad at none either. Not that my kill statistics are anything to go by!!Your first ship:
Your first ship will be a basic n00b ship which is given to you free of charge, basically equipped with a low grade mining laser and a gun for killing npc pirates. You also receive a small amount of ISK (ingame currency).
When you start for the first time you will automatically begin a tutorial from and agent. Please do persevere with the tutorial as its very important to get the basic understandings of how things work in the EVE universe. This takes roughly an hour, depending on how quickly you progress.
Tutorial finished? Now you are on your own.
As your ship is equipped with a mining laser and a basic gun you can either start to make your money by mining or shooting npc pirates in high sec space(more on that later). When you have destroyed an npc pirates ship it leaves an icon in space either a solid or hollow upside down triangle. Now if it is a solid icon that is left in space that means you can loot that wreck. Approach to within 1500m and you can transfer what was in that ships cargo hold into your own, hence make money by selling that loot or use it yourself. You can also salvage wrecks more on that in a later report. By killing these npc pirates you also get paid by CONCORD for killing them an ingame npc bounty system. CONCORD are the ingame npc police corporation be wary! More on CONCORD later.
As your ship also comes fitted with a basic mining laser you can make money by mining in the local asteroid fields and then selling the raw ore, or refining it in a station and selling the subsequent minerals. Far safer than hunting and looting npc pirate ships, but ultimately not as exciting.
As you start out in EVE you will find it slow to build up your cash, but that will increase as you learn more skills and are able to buy better ships and equipment more suited to your needs. My suggestion would be to get a good basic miner or combat ship and put all of your earned money into buying skill books.
Skill books are purchased at space stations, and are used to progress your skill levels in specific fields and to enable you to use better pieces of equipment, ships, increase your training times, increase your mental prowess etc....and you start training skills as soon as you start in EVE. The tutorial will show you how to train skills.
Google Evemon to download a program that can help you plan your skill training in the direction you have chosen.
By training your learning skills initially you will save yourself a great deal of time in the future. As you train each learning skill you will notice your training times for other skills decreasing, due to the learning skills improving your characters mental attributes.
Many people make the mistake of building up their gunnery skills, or others, before their learning skills. This is a mistake as acquiring greater mental attributes will save you months of additional training time in the future.CONCORD
This is the ingame police npc faction, all have top spec ships with devastating weaponry. They patrol high security space for npc pirates and come to the aid of players that are being attacked illegally. They also protect other players valuable in space aswell as the various stations and jumpgates to other systems.
System security rating
you start off in a high security system in EVE, to keep you safe from a majority of the pirate players. Security ratings range from 1.0 to 0.0, 1.0 being highest. High security space systems have a rating of 0.5 and above, low security systems are 0.4 0.0, 0.0 having no security at all.
Concord have a presence in every system with a rating of 0.5 and above, increasing deployment of their ships accordingly to each incerement in security status of that system.
Low sec space is overrun by pirates and pirate gangs by the way, be very carefull. There is no trust in EVE, no morals and no feelings. People in low security will kill indiscriminantly. No questions asked, and move onto the next victim.
TIP: stay out of low sec systems until you have at least 10mil skill points.Ownership of items in space
You will notice that when you are flying around in asteroid fields and jumpgates there will be items floating in space, usually cargo containers. Aswell as npc or player ship wrecks too. These will appear as a yellow icon if they are not owned by you, they appear white if they are your property.
If you attempt to take items from someone elses containers in high sec space you will be attacked by CONCORD, the same applies if you try and shoot aforementioned item. If you take loot from a ship wreck that does belong to you, i.e. you havent killed, then that automatically gives the owner of that wreck the right to open fire on you within whats known as the aggression period. Usually 15 minutes. After which your status returns to normal. Many players use this to earn money in EVE, i do now and then. It Brings some extra excitement to the game. Here are a few helpfull links to guides and programs:

http://elegance.grojojo.com/quickfit/I will start to cover more indepth aspects of eve as i progress ingame. In EVE i am a dedicated mission runner, working for npc agents to earn money killing loads of pirates! Az is a trader, others are deicated miners. You all choose your role in EVE to give yourself a unique gaming experience.
Come and judge for yourself! -
like Az says we think it would be a great idea, but the subscriptions would put ppl off. between us we have already provided one guy with a 90 day game card for free, ive provided another guy a 30 day game card for free. a 30 day is around 180mil isk (isk=ingame money). a 90 day around 380mil isk.
im currently earning between 60 -100 mil isk a day now so would'nt mind helping out other players for free game time until they can earn enough to pay for themselves with thier own isk.
btw the first 14 days is totally free.as for a corp/clan name i have one in mind - Crossfire Veterans
it would take time for us to get to a stage of setting up our own corp ingame due to real time learning of specific skills to be able to do so.
@super: you can play it, just dont download the premium graphics version.
@Az: maybe it would be advantageous to OP if i/we opted for eve-online moderators on the SWAT forum?

there are many activities you can undertake in EVE to make money, one of which is mission running.
at nearly every station in eve you will find an agent who deals out work for the corp that owns that particular station, all missions are against npc's. depending on the role of the agents' corp you can get offered mining missions aswell as courier missions.
ive found the easiest way to make money and progress to earning a decent amount of money is by taking military missions. along with getting bounty rewards for killing the npc's you can loot and salvage the wrecks and sell on the goods.
by sticking with just one agent your effective standing with that agent and corp will steadily increase until a point that you will be offered lvl 2 missions, considerably harder but far better rewards, and so on up to lvl 5 missions.
as a rule you can use frigates/destroyers on lvl 1 missions, cruisers on lvl 2, cruisers/battlecruisers on lvl 3, battleships on lvl 4, and capital craft like dreadnoughts and carriers on lvl 5. lvl5 missions are extremely difficult and should never be attemped alone.i have progressed enough with my mission running to have access to lvl5 missions, not that i'd ever attempt one. my current standing is now at 9.7 with the federal navy and as such i get the best missions with the highest rewards and best loot/salvage. im currently running lvl3 missions in a battlecruiser and earning a decent amount of money, 20mil a day is average atm.
i have attempted lvl4 missions in a battlecruiser but you are heaily outgunned and risk losing your ship. not something i relish as its cost me 90mil to get where it is^^
"dont fly anything you cant afford to lose" has been mentioned elsewhere, and its a reality of the game. you can have the best ship in the game one minute, and shipless and broke the next. -
so many ppl could have written this sarcastically satirical coment, narowed down to a fair few that i know who write like this^^
wb 2 cf
either that or bitterness.
