i think i know what the problem is m8, but i may be wrong. when i first tried to loot the secret storage containers they showed up on my solars listing, i clicked on it a when in range blasted like crazy!! unfortunately i didnt know that they were inside the ship!! i had to find the hole/entrance into the chamber where the container was located, then i was able to loot it of its data disk.
not saying you have the same situation, but its possible.

valid points, well recieved, from renegade and Az, the origonal argument was regarding, primarily, the ppl who use NY as an escape from persuers. in my view that is still wrong coz it defeats the rp of both parties.
learn to fly your ships better.
learn the systems better and map accurately.
have the foresight to look out for possible attackers and allways have your escape route planned.
or if you are like me just lead ppl on a wild goose chase for the laugh and they eventually give up after chasing you accross half of sirius. that is what its supposed to be like - FUN.
i challenge any clan to persue and catch me just to prove it can be done. ill have my lowly APC, you can fly what the hell you like!!
help is not needed if you plan what you want to do, if you know where you are going before your attackers get to you, PLANNING, takes 2 minutes.the trading is harder now and OP meant it to be like that, another way to force more RP. its welcomed but as you can see it also comes with drawbacks, everyone has to compromise as far as ppl who are trading is concerned, not just the trading clans. hell, i admit, i earned a hell of a lot of money on the sol run and it was good too see it back the other day, would have been bettter if BG(and other ASF) could have formed a blockade, multi RP!! still wouldnt catch me tho!

the possibility of hiring others to help out in our trading has been mentioned. due to our factions' players in multi timezones and the very limited numbers of other clans, outside of asf/csf RP, being online at relevant times; leaves us having to trade alone, especially where there are enemy factions present at the same time. this doesnt just affect trading clans, it affects everyone to different extents.@Carbine
we already trade using these methods where the trade allows, but heres an example: station blueprints, buy on new london for 8819(if memory serves), fill your train take to durham stn in leeds and unload with an apc, selling for roughly 11700. profit for 20 mins = 14.5 mil, split 2 ways = 7.75 mil. Sol run 60 mil (ish) profit 45 mins 1 player involved. plenty of opportunity to RP on that route, i use to love the pirates, police and BG's (ineffective towards me!) blockade. great fun. we practice every trading method we can employ with our resourses and whats available.Doppleganger

the last big multiple ship trade i found netted me and 7 other ppl huge profits, and then the super trade routes were removed. the sol run appeared the other day and virtually every player was on it coz money/trade is difficult now. money used to be a lot easier to earn than now. i see many ppl going bankrupt every single day, not like it used to be. i have lost a valued member as he felt the traders are no longer wanted here in CF, our RP is getting "sqeezed out" of CF. UAC are pruely traders, with slight military/pvp inclinations. we want to trade but havent the means anymore, due to other threats from enemy attacks, contstantly.
im relaying my own opinions and that of my clansmen and ex clansmen here. feel free to criticise and argue, pointless me making these posts if you dont.

well m8 without broaching other subjects its hard to explain, and there are already threads on the differring RPs. i can say that UAC as a whole is of diminished numbers through numerous reasons i wont go into in this thread. we dont have the numbers to trade like that, unlike BG or IOC. members of our own RP faction are thin and widespread across multi timezones, making it difficult to hire protection. Freelancers are not an option here, sry no offence intended, but i know the level of pvp skills of nearly everyone in CF, and it would be a slaughter. thats not RP, thats just asking for the whole clan to go bankrupt. not everyone can evade the police, military or mercenaries aswell as i can, not being modest, its true. why would i or any other member of my clan wish to bankrupt themselves intentionally, because thats what it boils down to.
UAC does what it does best to make money and prosper in the ways we know how. due to changes in the RP on the server, forcing old alliances apart to form new ones, has left traders in our faction no choice but to make money the safest way we can, be it in NY or the other side of Sirius. but trust me when i say we know the best trade routes. i get members from every clan asking me when they log on where the good trade is today. that kind of thing comes from trust in the knowing that i know my RP better than most. i have 223 bases listed on one of my chars that shows buying/selling prices of every commodity in Sirius and Altair, and it is cheecked every single day. -

most of the time the highest profit commodities are in NY, i dont know why its just the way it happens. if we can earn more there why would we go elsewhere to earn less over a longer period of time?
traders will operate where there is maximum profit, doesnt matter where that is. that is our chosen RP. if there is trade outside on NY you inevitably end up going through or selling on NY again. trust me on this, ive earned and explored enough in my time here. so its not the traders causing the problems, trading in NY is a by product and fault of the dynamic universe, so we should be left out of the equation.Doppleganger.

ive just lost one of my most valued members after he read that post. im very sad to see him go and he will be missed. but UAC are traders, if there is good trade in NY we are going to trade there. period. if any member of UAC get banned for trading in NY, when there is good trade there, ill start deleting MY OWN CHARS. sry, but why should i accept that our chosen RP is being furthermore restricted because of someones elses actions? its not UAC's fault that alot of the time the best trading to be had is in NY. remove trade from NY and we'll stop trading there. its not UAC's fault cowards hide in NY.

i agree that the Freelancers of the server have very little rights and priviledges, which is a shame. As an SP i would enforce any such rules to protect these guys aswell as the lower level players. hopefuly this discussion will get THE point across to the cowards of the server, if i can learn to evade 4 CFPD then everyone else can. sure you'll get killed a few times, you think i didnt, learning to pilot trains, apc's and such ships. even learning you piloting/fighting skills in a vhf. it still leaves no excuse to close NY - the most centralised and important CF system, trade wise at least - to serverclans or ppl over a certain level. thats punishing the majority for the minorities' actions. the fair players of the server need to tackle this issue by acting to prevent it, by KoS of the ppl that constantly use NY as a safe harbour (just an example of a detterant). if the community works together then we have a solution to the problem.

well if you are a criminal on the run from a persuer why stop in ny and taunt them? i had the whole of cfpd chasing me around bretonia the other day, they couldnt catch me in my lowly APC!! Gunny eventually got bored with the chase after i made it through bretonia, liberty, rhienland and kusari space(chuckling quietly to myself!), and thats what its about, that IS the RP, thats whats fun! if you have done something wrong, be it asf/csf, pirate or smuggler, then accept the consequences of your own actions and your chosen RP. dont act with cowardice and go hide! And why prohibit serverclans? that means a hell of a trip to get from cali to colorado! anyway that could be viewed as dicriminatory.

you are kidding m8? like taking london out of england or washington out of the states!! NY is THE central system in Sirius, where new players are met, where ppl chat, a central trade route hub and of course where cowards hide.
thats the thing, the common factor in every response - how do i kill someone that runs to NY? easy answer, lift the pvp rule in NY, or at least employ a no fire safe zone for new players. ppl say that n00bs will be killed, i say that we might have the odd isolated incident for which should be a server rule added, no killing below lvl 40 - bannable offence. easy. ppl can take screen shots to act as evidence. i dont want ppl in CF who think it funny or take pleasure in killing n00bs.
You cant punnish a whole community for a few cowards actions, its wrong, its not down to them. im not going to point fingers and make accusations as to who these ppl are, they already know. and i hope they understand that thier actions are jeopordising everyones fun and freedom on the server.we must not bring in a rule for access to ny to lvl 40 and under, that is predjudice and discrimination in itself, and places even more restrictions on system access to everyone. which itself is against server rules i might add.
All this CRAP about restricting access to over a certain level is rubbish, its not an option ppl. Hell, we server clans do that because we own our systems. the rest of sirius and altair "belong" to the players.ppl with stores - keep them in ny coz its safe, lift the pvp rule and they arent. SO WHAT? RP. pay a tax, take a chance or "RENT" space in a clansystem for safe storage. 1 or 2 mil per week/per char? not a lot for peace of mind huh?
LIFT THE PVP BAN AND ENFORCE A PROTECTION RULE FOR LVL 40 AND UNDER.
easy solution to a growing problem of RP cowardice.

Granted you will help him out when needed, and if its a matter off defending him from attacks then that is fine in my eyes. But please report any offending player who attacks you with no warning, if he doesnt have an appropriate licence mounted, etc......
Police will kill you if you are smuggling contraband, Mercs will kill you if there is a contract out on you, pirates will tax you (once you have reached a certain level), and there are guidelines for everyone to follow.
at your level ppl should be helping you settle in and adjust, well boomer more than rover!i killed boomer yesterday because he killed a lvl 33 player with no warning, got his attention didnt it. and that was the idea, not to be malicious, but to show him what he has inflicted on another player. learn from your mistakes.
I wont deny that everyone here has the odd, tiny bad habit. but we all abide by the server rules, and so must you guys.
if you see an infringement of those rules the plz take a screenshot and notify SP.if you guys have been here a couple of weeks than you should know who the SP are.As for "copying" others actions my opinion is you arent lemmings, your own actions are predetermined by you and no one else. dont follow suit of the odd bad egg, look to seververclans for advise if neccassary. Your role in this, Rover, should be to guide boomer as you are a lot older and mature than boomer. otherwise he might get into trouble with other clans and SP.

rover sems like a reasonably nice guy, boomer is his young "hot headed" son. i threatened him with a ban earlier for killing a lvl 33 player for no reason. he appologised eventually and i made him pay back the 100k credits.having a laugh and making another guys time here a misery is unacceptable to me. we all come here to have fun. safe to say boomer knows ill kick him all over the server before i ban him, just so he knows what it feels like, if he doesnt start to adhere to server rules. keping an open mid is a fair comment, but considereing how much time i spend here i probably know alot more than most of thier/his antics.
this offence was of the same nature as one 2 hrs ealier ,with IOC involved. opening fire with no reason, acting as pirates with no indication of thier chosen rp.
evryone is responsible for thier own actions.
be carefull guys, welcome to CF, but abide by the server rules like we all do

no offence OP but does that mean deleting the hades, the kamov, anyone who decides to create a missile bomber char? i myself use 2 types of cd, a sunslayer, a nemesis and dual mines. if they are such bad news for the server why have them? i dont deny that they cause lag, but the server has been sufferring with terrible lag for about the past 5 days, maybe longer. i notice it when more than about 20 ppl are online, and i have 4mb broadband connection. it didnt used to be like this, and i have no idea why it is now.
i dont know of anyone that doesnt use missiles to a certain extent, be it a cd or pvp with a hades! most of the best fighters here use missiles in pvp. some ppl use them a hell of a lot more than others, but then they may not be as good.
