A huge WTF - lucky I was not affected as I installed Eve onto a diff hard drive to windows and my windows was on my C drive.

It seems a lot of other people had their OS killed by the Trinity update last night -

Why would you name a file with the same name as a key, very important, key, key, file that should not be deleted?

Anyway by the time I got on my pc last night the developers had pulled the new update - but left an old one on - which meant quite a fwe people, downloaded an old file thinking it was the new one - which then did not work and caused further confusion.

    http://myeve.eve-online.com/in…p?a=topic&threadID=651629

The enhanced graphics look nice but I knew my graphics card would not be able to handle them and duly - after getting everything to work - te game crashed about 5 secs into space.

But this morning - a lot of people have more serious probs

As usual - fate conspires to throw a spanner in my plans.

I manage to get the whole day off - and Eve is onffline.

    Let me get on Crossfire.

    LOL =

I would say ahoy to all those pilots I would have chance to renew acquaintaces (and settle old scores :-))

Another update - what has been going on in my Eve universe?

Well firstly I have joined another Corp (clan jumper am I) which looks to be more professional, and even more important, sociable.

Unfortunately the biggest known trouble maker in all time and space, Ryzune, is in that Corp so there is potential for his usual story.

    1. Big fallout with another member of the Corp
    2. He blames everyone else but himself
    3. He leaves after setting fire to the Corp HQ

Its also possible that Captn Ryzune may even become my boss - but that aint never gonna happen :-)

Mining - got myself a Caldari Cruiser called an Osprey which is one of the best - newbie/ cheap mining platforms in the game - it will even outmine Captn Ryzune in his new spanking hot of the press specialist mining barge - and it looks quite nice and has a good friendly feel to it.

For those quiet moments where I like to ponder and philosophise I am able to use the Osrepy to go mining (fishing) and enjoy the peace and quiet. I have found a way to ensure total secure mining opportunities without the risk of someone coming along and stealing my ore - its a good trick and has allowed me to make quite a few millions.

Missions - got myself onto lvl 2 misisons which I was managing quite alright - until I got too confident attacing some ships with a bounty of 450k each - way beyond my skills and I paid a price in losing my ship - a cruiser called Thorax.

So I went back to lvl 1 missions to rebuild my confidence (lol it was shattered) and I am nearly able to go back AND KILL THOSE DAMN PIRATES!!

It seems the outcomes of battles in Eve are dictacted by 1million variables - but I read somewhere that outcomes

    = 25% skills, 25% equip,ship, 50% tactics

Therefore all sorts of unusual things happen now and again where a smaller ship used wisely can turn over huge battleships etc

Eve is cruel, there are no rules except - take what you can and give nothing back.

There is no discussion on fairplay or justice - Buyer beware!! Take it on the chin!! - If it can be done - then its within the rules :-)

What we would call Fake Chars are quite common - and indeed a tactic used by many people to infiltrate opposing corps - sometimes even spending more than 6 months with them to gain their trust - and then pull everything down around their heads in spectacular fashion.

I am now able to fly a Battlecruiser to do lvl 3 misisons - but I wont do that until I spend more time just enjoying the game and learning stuff - my view is that before you spend 20mill on a new ship - be sure you can use it properly :-)

Ships - there are dozens of ships for each of the four races and specialisation is the key - there is no uber super ship - not for 99.99999% of the people online. Each ship has a few bonus abilities desgined into it by the engineers - so its a good trick to link your fighting style with a ship that gives bonus to it - some give extra damage to weapons whilst others give extra protection or can help your Electronic Warfare efforts.

Trading - hmm - the most secretative aspect of Eve - trade routes once found are abused until the local economy is affected and the route stops becoming profitable - trade routes are never disclosed..

I have been thinking about this activity and have a few ideas and hope soon to put some into practise ;-)

But I cant tell you about what they are

See this guide on official forums:

    http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Character_creation

Before embarking on your first journey into EVE Online, you must first configure your character's appearance and identity. The first step is to choose the race of your character.

A unique name and appearance, created by you, identifies your character. During character generation you select your gender and race. The character creation tools offer you the opportunity to manipulate (or "morph") your facial features, creating a face unlike any other. The final result is your avatar portrait, which is visible to other players in several ways, including on our message boards and in-game chat channels.

When you log in for the first time, the first screen you will see is the "Choose Race" screen. When you have completed the creation process, your character identity will be saved here. You have the option of creating up to three characters rather than just one.

The character will then advance through a skill training system after play begins. You will learn with double the normal speed until you hit 1,6 Mio Skillpoints. The skill training system is explained later in this guide. There are no classes in EVE and no race is generally superior to another - at least not as far as the game mechanics are concerned. Which race is best for you is a matter of personal taste, based on which description intrigues you and how you wish to play the game.

Each char will have the following attributes

    Charisma
    Intelligence
    Memory
    Perception
    Willpower

These attributes are important as they govern how quickly you can learn skills - anyone can learn anything - the TIME it takes to learn stuff is the key.

Current wisdom is suggesting that having many points of Charisma is wasted (unless you want to be a trader) as there are less skills and activities that rely on Charisma than other things.

Another thing to note is that being a pirate/pvp role is hard as a good skilled pilot will require a good level in all the other attributes.

Other wisdom therefore suggests a good starting set up is to have your Charisma as low as possible and a good even spread amongst your other attributes.

    ********************************
All characters have five types of attributes that control their skill training time. Those attributes are:

    Perception
    Willpower
    Charisma
    Memory
    Intelligence
    Perception

Perception describes the situational awareness of the character and his ability to adapt and react quickly to a rapidly changing situation. Good perception helps the character train skills needed to fly and maneuver a spaceship and operate its weaponry.

Willpower describes the character's drive and determination. Willpower is very useful for commanders and allows for faster training of their leadership abilities.

Charisma describes the character's attractiveness to other people and how easy going he is. High charisma helps train skills related to dealings with computer controlled characters.

Memory describes the character's ability to store and retrieve data quickly and efficiently. Good memory makes complex and repetitive activities easier to perform, such as activities of manufacturing and production. Industry and Science skills use the Memory attribute.

Intelligence describes the character's capacity for creative and logic-based thinking and reasoning. Intelligence helps in scientific pursuits and other activities requiring good deductive skills.

Attributes are directly associated with skill training time. Skills are be linked to two attributes where the attribute score modifies the time it takes to train the skill.

The higher the attributes, the less time the skill needs to finish each level.

Supercars is trying to create a unique clan in Crossfire - that is based in Coalition space - far far away and traversed through Dom Kovash and Nomad waters - its not easy to get there.

His vision for the clan was based on a spirit of co-operation, pink flowers, peace and gun running.

He has found raw power is more attractive than peace.

Nobody has seen him online for about 12 months.

    Mining?

So you want to make cash the simple way and delve into the Eve catocombs and begin a mining career? You like wearing a hard hat?

See this comprehensive mining guide here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/in…p?a=topic&threadID=434899

I was unable to print it - but I have created a text only version for easy reading.

Each race has special mining ships that give bonuses to improve your yield -

However the best and final mining ships are race nuetral (Mining Barges)

The best mining ships (Frigates) you can access at the beginning are the Caldari Bantam or Gallante Navitas - both of these ships give a huge 20% bonus per level to your mining yield. At level 3, you can get a whopping 60% extra ore per minute with these ships!!

These two ships also give a special bonus that allows you to fit two Miner 2 Lasers - without this bonus you would not be able to fit them to such a small ship. (you must train mining to lvl 4 to be able to use these lvl 2 lasers).

Now depending on what race you choose and whether you really want to emabark on a career as a miner - I suggest no matter what race you begin with - you train for the Caldari option straight away.

Why is that? Because the Caldari have the only other ship that gives a 20% bonus, and that is the cruiser Osprey -

You can access this ship with Caldari Frigate Lvl 4 and then Crusier Lvl 1

Other races have Cruisers with a 10% bonus per level for your yield - but you do the maths and will realise the Osprey is the best ship at that level.

You can train other skills to increase your overall yield and also use drones to help with mining.

At one point you will have to decide to go with either a Battleship or a specialist Mining Barge.

The BS are much more expensive, but then you are more flexible and can use it for combat, pvp and missions.

The mining barges are much cheaper and they allow you to fit Strip Miners - special mining equip that give huge yields.

    Sorry to spam this thread

Wow - in my day as an LP you were hunted for sport - numerous bounties on your train prohibited you from making money and training was something done by other clans.

And those were the good days.

Good luck in bringing more people into the honourable profession.

Heartfelt thanks to the contributors and well wishers.

An Ore thief gave me some grief

My mining yield I have begun to build

By attending Astrogeology School - I am no fool

Soon, flying the Cruiser Osprey - I will mine all day

Advanced Drone Skills will allow me to kill

A secret alternative char will allow me to spar

With an ore thief who I gave some grief

Yesterday my first level 2 storyline mission yielded a +2 implant.

Tyrael recently set a new world record for being the youngest MAJOR in Crossfire History but at the celebration party afterwards he was only allowed to drink orange juice - shaken not stirred.

In his spare time he likes Quake and making movies.

He is the best girlfriend I ever had :-)

T - You're loyal to those you love. ( well i`m an angel after all xD )

    Y - Best g/f b/f anyone could ever ask for. ( angel... ^^ )

    R - Fuckin crazy. ( As u know i`m a bit evil xD )

    A - You like to drink. ( Some mistake here i think O_o )

E - Damn good kisser. ( ehehh angels job xD )

L - Everybody loves you. ( heheh god bless u all xD )

Due to an incident in his early years involving Ketchup - Tyrael has this thing about BLOOD - and he likes the computer game Diablo.

Since he started with this community he has started drinking and shaving - and he is great in bed and a damn good kisser.

OP does not like banging his head against a brick wall - but he is getting used to it and has lots of headache pills since he started this community.

He likes people to tell him whats going on before he reads it on a flame thread on SWAT.

I once killed DC Hagar in Chug for tax avoidance - it is one of my most fav memories on the server - I was quite chuffed to kill one of the CELEBS

Hagar has passed control of all of his finances to Mrs Hagar (I wish I had done that earlier as well)

    Hmm

Two games against Croatia - two defeats.

For some reason the Croations treated the game as a cup final and played 2 upfront most of the game whilst England played with 1 upfront and treated it like a Sunday afternoon pub game after a huge lunch.

Beckham injected some urgency into the game when he came on.

    Players and Tactics.
    Tactics and Players.

Two fit, hungry, angry, with a point to prove, strikers on the bench.

Croatia played to win, England played not to lose.

If that penalty was awarded against us = we would all have declared it the worst crime in history as Defoe certainly overreacted to a simple tug.

    I am also very disapointed.

Goodone - you statement even though it was misunderstood - certainly stands out in this thread and can easily be misinterpreted.

SPs should be very easily be able to wear diff hats without any consequences - most of us that play any online game would know their is a difference.

The SPs themselves have said more than a million times that their roles are indeed seperate - but have a difficult time doing so due to the childish and stupid actions of the rest of us.

Their roles are completely different, they have said so, they make it so, there should be no consequences.

If there are - it is from people in this community that cant tell the difference between roleplay and protection of the server rules - which are completely different.

Anyway Goodone - forgive us - as you see we can be quite protective of the people that protect us :-)

    Cmon you Spain!!

    Cmon you mighty reds!!

One thing England and Spain have in common - classic underachivers and eternal knock outs in quarterfinal stage.

Least I may root for Torres.

Funniest thing last night was that even Alan Hansen (a Scot) was getting some tears in his eyes (I am not sure if they were tears of laughter) and during the commentary it was said

"England were relying on Israel to beat Russia and then Andorra to get something from Russia "

    LOL Andorra?

Lampard? If he never scored the penalty I would never have thought he was even on the pitch.

Bridge? He played like a left back with a right foot

Well little England got a footballing lesson tonight as might Crotia knocekd England out of the European Championship.

No doubt the rest of Europe are happy that no Brits will be making the tournament.

Although already qualified, Crotia played really positive and skillfull way showing the English millionaires what passion and pride was all about.

English Coach Steve Mac should go as he made some crucial tactical decisions that made a huge impact

Placing a 22 year old in goal for his first comepetitive match - the guy made a crucial error for the first goal

And going for the 451 formation, which England cant play or even understand - he should have gone 442 with Crouch and Defoe, Lamps on the bench, blah blah

Congrats to all the countries that went through

Great posts OP - All Hail OP = lots of wisdom indeed

OP is right, communication in this place is very poor , even within a clan =

We need to be forming friendships with people in other clans, give it a try and see how it goes.

Due to some people lack of flexibility or lack of foresight - this wont always happen - but is genuinely something worth trying to do - get to know them - talk to them - find out about them. It's a risk worth taking.

    It's a game -

Can you stay in a place full of people you dont like?
Can you enjoy being in a place that is not with your friends?
Will new people stay in a place that is not friendly?

Why are some of our community hassling our Server Police? Wtf is that about? You should not be talking to them unless there is a serious problem -

    Otherwise leave them ALONE

Gunny - if you want to kill him - become a pirate - that way he will come looking for you as he is the best rp on the server - that's what I did.

Hide behind a train - shoot him in the back - then run off before he can get you back - being chased by G and his cronies is a fantastic rp experience.

    Gunny

I read your last post and I agree with all of it - I know personally you have been quite lenient and supportive of my various activities.

I have felt, personally, the affect of your hard nosed rp many times, looking back I think it was quite educational but I did not think that at the time :-)

Good luck, BOSS, but do you always have to ESCALATE?

Anyway, if the cops need KwisatzSecretCop online - send me a PM :-)
