Question: do Freelancer and Starlancer use D3D? I have been having problems with both of them as of late ( Screen flickering, strange bars and lines going up/ down my screen like an old TV set). I suspect D3D because in Counterstrike 1.6, it lets you choose between Software, D3D, or OpenGL and when I choose OpenGL or Software, it works fine, but when D3D is selected, it does what I have decribed above.

I swear, this computer will be the death of me...

well, i have ran it in win 98 compatibility mode and it doesnt do it as often. although, if i alt tab to anything else, it crashes instantly. OP, you said it was somthing to do with a sound problem? perhaps if i update the .dll files that deal with the sound (if possible) it will work? I tried it with Dungeon Keeper 2, but it only fixed it part of the way...

I am having this problem where starlancer keeps crashing because of these memory errors. first it shows the regular "this program encountered an error and needs to shut down, sorry for the inconvenience." error, but after i close that error, I get a memory error like this: The instruction at 0x####### referenced memory at 0x####### . The memory could not be 'read'.

please help, this is really irritating.

I am stuck in single player yet again, but this time I just keep dying. I have just came out of the GMG outpost that is in the dervon system, and head over to that weird thingy with a giant force-field over it, when it tells me to kill 3 Ancient drones. This is no easy task. I die over and over again. Once I even went back to Utopia and got me a cruiser, and they STILL killed me within 30 seconds. I can do lots of damage to them, but they always end up killing me before I can get them all. Can somebody recommend a ship and a shield that will protect me from them long enough?

I realize this may or may not be very hard to do, as I have next to no knowledge of game mod design (XD), but just ideas:

Perhaps there could be more factions within the coalition? If I remember correctly, the coalition was made of Russia, China, and Mid.East country's. (I feel like im missing something there...) Maybe you could make factions for Russian coalition, Chinese coalition, and Middle Eastern Coalition? (LOL not talking about BF2)

Another thing: is it possible for you to add new engine sounds? that would be cool...

yeah... I have Nvidia FX Go5200..... really bad.... plus 1.4 GHz processor... T___T

What are the system requirements to run crossfire 2.0 on the highest graphics? (My comp Really sucks, so I doubt it will... it cant even do 1.9 on the highest)

how come in multi-player, when I collide with a hostile AI ship they fly really far back, and sometimes just disappear all together? happens to me all the time, and im like:

well thats good that that one guy changed his modem. I usually get a 150-300 ping. Seems bad because if i played fps with that sorta ping, they will kick me. XD

I can't do anything about the fact that my ping sucks, but the server still constantly crashes. and I mean you guys no disrespect. It's Just a little frustrating when I have a cargo hold full of cruiser captians, and I'm almost to a jail, and the server crashes and sends me back to the last base I was at and looses all of my escape pods I just spent half my day getting.
