im just wondering if with the R&D update that we can expect soon the Aegis set which i already have is getting adjusted or if i need a new set

I read on the STO forum this morning that the current Aegis set will get an automatic upgrade to the Mk XII in 9.5 if you already have it; makes me want to hurry up and craft one for each of my alts before then. Sadly, I don't think there is time, since I only really pursued it on 1 of 4 char's. :S

    it is bound to ranks
there are no exceptions to this

Hmmm...ok, but Alphal'Fa doesn't display it... And, (because I want to be somewhat useful for "normal" VA admin stuff), where do I see the member CP?

Does the FMS appear automatically on VA/LG-ranked alts, or is it individually unlocked? On the KDF side, Qun'pau has the FMS display, but not Alphal'Fa; both are now Lieut. Generals. Also, I understand that VA's have some access to check member status, activate new members, etc. Where do I look for that function?

Of course, the rollovers don't work on the image, but it looks as though you've got the various space sets organized by reputation. I guess that means the "sort" button is off limits for you! :P

I have now opened 64 Hirogen lock boxes, compressed into the following yields:

(15x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (23.4%)
    (1) Tetryon weapon pack (1.6%)
(8x) Gamma Quadrant DOff cadre (12.5%)
    (15x) Gamma Quadrant DOff mini-pack (23.4%)
    (1) Hirogen Predator DOff (purple) (1.6%)
    (1) Preferred Rich Dilithium mining claims (6-pack) (1.6%)
    (1) Alpha Deception Field Console (1.6%)
(2x) Genetic Resequencer (space) "Hot Pursuit" trait (includes repec)
    (1) Genetic Resequencer (ground) "Hunter Trait" (includes repec) (1.6%)
    (5x) 2K CXP bonus (7.8%)
    (3x) 100 Reputation Mark Bonus (4.7%)
    (1) 500 Reputation Mark bonus (1.6%)
    (1) 5K Fleet Credit bonus (1.6%)
    (1) 25K Fleet Credit bonus (1.6%)
(2x) Mirror Universe Dhelan Warbird refit (3.1%)
(2x) Mirror Universe Heavy Cruiser refit (3.1%)
    341 Lobi (5.33/box)

Are you going to go with KDF? Promotions on that side are faster ATM, and we could use some help moving the holdings forward. Besides, it would be fun to have some KDF fleet actions together! :P

    @OP:

Because of your glowing report, I went ahead and tried the KDF Fleet defense PvE, among others, and by Sunday night, had earned enough fleet marks to complete at least 6 projects on KDF holdings, allof which needed only marks to finish. My Rom/KDF char apparently reached an invisible limit, because at some point the "Join" button would not appear anymore. I gained at least 200K FC's on my KDF main, so I might reach VA next month already. I also have enough marks on my Fed main to finish Dyson T5 day after tomorrow, followed next week by all others except Undine.

BTW, we'll need some new projects started for KDf holdings now... :D

    UPDATE:

In conjunction with the Shuttle event, PWE is offering a 30% discount in the Lobi store until Monday, June 2nd. This is the perfect opportunity to unload some of those Lobi we earned in the FE Replay event! With that in mind, I have been saving my Lobi for a ship that would help win the No Win Scenario. I'm not sure which ship to buy, since STO forums seem divided on this issue. I would welcome any suggestions; just keep in mind that of my 4 'toons, 3 are Engineers and 1 Scientist.

LOL, I think Cryptic is really grasping at straws to entertain players with this one, but for what it's worth:

Quick captains, it's time to jump into your favorite shuttle and get to the frontlines! For a limited time only, we're hosting the Shuttle Weekend Event. From Thursday May 29th at 10AM PDT to Monday June 2nd at 10AM PDT, swarm your enemies in these small crafts!

During the Shuttle Weekend Event, we have transformed three of our starship queued events into brand new shuttle events. Federation and Klingon Fleet Alert, No Win Scenario, and Storming The Spire will now feature twenty player queues to try and take down some familiar enemies. While the original missions will still be available this weekend, the shuttle queued events will feature twice as many Marks for completion! We're also increasing the Marks available for Atmosphere Assault and Vault Shuttle Event.

Atmosphere Assault - Maximum Players: (5)

Federation and Klingon Fleet Alert - Maximum Players: (20)

No Win Scenario - Maximum Players: (20)

Storming The Spire - Maximum Players: (20)

Vault Shuttle Event - Maximum Players: (5)

Just in case those missions weren't hard enough, now we get to try them in a PUG format! :P

Well, every time I log in with my Fed char's, I check the build queue, and there is NEVER a project open that requires dill; at best, I can contribute a few DOffs, maybe some commodities, and that's it. My Fed char's will not likely get another promotion this year if this continues.

On the KDF side, we have build projects on all 4 holdings, and large dill sinks waiting to be filled; I might reach VA in a month or two over there... :S

Well, the VA Council should be able to manage the Fleet assets until you get back. I empathise with your situation; internet is a big part of life to go missing... :(

I'm running STO on Win7 Pro, 32-bit; it's not perfect, but even with the on-board graphics in my CPU, it's pretty good. I do tend to get some lag if ANY other programs are running whilst logged in to the STO server (antivirus updates, etc, etc).

Last week I ran into a problem with my (new) comp not recognizing my mouse when I woke it from standby mode. Turns out it was related to a Windows Critical Update; when I rolled back to the "restore point" my mouse was fine again. Not suggesting that it will be this simple, but sometimes hardware & software get into a "pissing match" over how the environment should look... 8|

BTW: this happened on 2 consecutive days of Windows updates... :cursing:

Time for the quarterly Bonus Dilithium Weekend! PWE announced the 50% bonus for all dilitium content; I hope that does not include mining claim, as those have previously been 100%. Now is the time to make the most of the event for good fleet advancement, and some of those new toys you have been looking forward to! Event ends Monday, 5/5 @ 10am, PDT.

With another 12 Hirogen boxes opened (key sale incentive), I now have results on 44 boxes, so I have also included percentages for chance of a specific item drop:

    Federation:
(4x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (9.09% FED, 31.82% overall)

    (1) 100 Reputation Mark bonus (2.27% Rom/FED, 4.54% overall)
    39 Lobi (8 total boxes) (4.88/box)

So, if you're using Hirogen boxes to get Lobi, do it as a FED captain; they seem to have the best yield...

OK, now that PWE has put keys on sale in conjunction with the lockbox rerun event, I indulged in a couple of 10-packs, partly to build up my new Fed-aligned Romulan science captain. This time, I opened 5 each with my 4 char's, to see if any better stuff would drop. So I have compiled the stats in the original post with the new set, giving us an ovarall look at 32 Hirogen lock boxes, with their faction-specific results:

    Federation:
(4x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (2 ground, 2 space)
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff cadre
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff mini-pack
    (1) Preferred Rich Dilithium mining claims (6-pack)
    (1) Genetic Resequencer (space) "Hot Pursuit" trait (includes repec)
    (1) Mirror Universe Heavy Cruiser refit
    60 Lobi (9 total boxes)

BTW, the last 5 boxes did not drop any DOff packs...

    KDF:
(2x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (1 space, 1 ground)
    (2x) Gamma Quadrant DOff mini-pack
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff cadre
    (1) Alpha Deception Field Console
    (1) 2k CXP bonus pack
    40 Lobi (9 total boxes)

    Rom/KDF:
(3x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (1 ground, 2 unopened)
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff cadre
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff mini-pack
    (1) 2k CXP bonus pack
    (1) Genetic Resequencer (ground) "Hunter Trait" (includes repec)
    (1) Mirror Universe Dhelan Warbird refit
    38 Lobi (9 total boxes)

    Rom/Fed:
(3x) Destabilized Tetryon weapon pack (unopened)
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff cadre
    (1) Gamma Quadrant DOff mini-pack
    24 Lobi (5 total boxes)

Open a Hirogen box if you want - tetryon weapons (37.5%), Gamma quadrant DOff's (28%); slim chances for other items. Lobi yield averaged 5.06/box.

Last night, I tested an enhanced setup for my Dyson destroyer, albeit without any fleet gear (although it had the RMC). I ran an episode mission called "Ghost Ship", where the Hirogen are waiting to pounce on the Federation investigators. The mission was ok, until I had to kill the Hirogen battleship, which apparently has a warp shadow cabability, but with real weaps. After 45 minutes of killing Hirogen ships, I realized that I did not have enough firepower to kill the alpha ship before it spawned another round of dopplegangers. So I left the system, docking at the nearest starbase to switch over to my Mirror Advanced Escort (still not a really strong ship). I moved the RMC to the escort, and headed back with minimal changes from what I had been building over the last couple of months (this was its first shakedown mission, in fact). Finally, I had enough power to finish the mission; now I'm thinking that this will be my main ship until I can buy a 9-console job.

In order to beef up the escort, I've mounted my Aegis set on it, and done some minor cannon improvements, with the BOff/DOff support to follow. This ship is all tetryon weapons (all dual heavy cannons fore, with turret/torps rear. I've got a few decent consoles, like a Fleet MK XII RCS console, but obviously more to be done. Any thoughts how to maximize this build without costing a fortune?

@OP: Thanks for the tip; I tried another path to the correct activation page (from inside the game) and now the legacy unlocks are all there! :whistling:

So the benefits (with Zen values - I'll verify later today):
    (2) extra rows of storage slots on account bank (2000 zen)
    (2) inventory storage expansions per character (2400 - 3 char's)
    (1) extra character slot (425)
    (1) month Gold Zen allotment (500)
    (4) extra BOff slots per character (3000? -3 char's)
    (2) uniform sets (850 - still need to confirm this)
    (1) Red Matter Capacitor per character (unique - 10000?)
    (1) Collector's Edition case, book, CD & emblem (pretty, but useless)

Despite having paid a premium ($100 US) for the CE on Amazon, it looks like the unlocked Zen value (~9175) plus the RMC is actually a reasonable value, compared to the normal inflated C-Store packages. :wissenschaftler:
