Welcome back!
-
also worth a try:
Repair Ship
has no defenses but docks like a freighterif you need help getting out of there i can send someone over to try and kill you in there
-
For future reference:
If you get stuck in a base it's usually enough to open the doors by starting the docking sequence (select base + F3) and then exit the docking sequence at the right moment (ESC or FreeFlight) and just fly out. needs a bit of practice but usually works, at least when you're flying a fighter/Freighter.However, one time i managed to get stuck so deep in a base (LPI Huntsville) that i couldn't reach the doors at all, in this case the only way to get out was to move close to the wall and fire my missiles/torpedoes killing myself.
If you get stuck in a normal dock with a train while undocking, because someone else is using the Moor-point (observed at Triangulum/Utopia) it seems to be enough to quit game (alt-f4 / task manager) and log back in. might need two tries.

As far as i know cargo fuses for freighter are activated. That means when you destroy a loaded freighter piloted by another player you get a certain %of their cargo as loot in space.
My idea would be to have two Teams and two EMs stationed at two bases. Say New Berlin and Planet Hamburg.
both teams need one freighter and fighter escorts.
the EMs are stationed at each one of the bases and scan everyone coming in to dock. Now we need two commodities with equal cargo capacity (Diamonds & Niobium, Alien Organisms & Beryllium, ...) that are only sold on one of the bases.
The teams will get points for each commodity their freighter can deliver (by docking) to the enemy base and also for what you can steal from your enemy and deliver back to your own base.
How many points each action brings might have to be discussed.
What do you think?
edit: I want to add that i like both your ideas, just trying to brainstorm here

Happy B-day M8!!
was fun getting my ass kicked by you today, thx 4 the advice

the first time you start FAM i should realize that it doesn't know the current ID and offer to import it. (see FAM0.png ) of course this happens everytime FAM sees an ID it doesn't know.
next you're given the opportunity to assign a name to that ID. you can always rename it later you you don't want to bother about that yet. (see FAM1.png )
you should then get a success message like FAM2.png .
Finially you should see the main window (FAM3.gif).
here you have the chance to export one or all your accounts into a file, import accounts from files and most importantly to switch between known accounts by double-clicking on the according line. you don't have to close the game entirely to switch accounts, being in Main Menu and Alt-Tabbing out to switch is enough.now this is the tool i've used to create new accounts. just keep on hitting the generate button until you find one that you like and save it. (see keygen.png) there are two options to save, the middle button allows you to create a .adf file with the account information, that you can then import into FAM while the right one directly imports it into FAM as "New Freelancer Account" once you've provided the FAM directory.
Hope this helps,
WHISKY out -
I'll write up a short manual for the Account Manager later, as that's the the tool i use. coupled with FLKeyGen to generate new IDs without starting the game.
promised to meet my parents for dinner first, tho.

thanks!!
now i remember what was driving me nuts didn't even notice anymore.

When i played through the SP i trades even more and got myself the The Werewolf (i think) on a planet in NY system, at a price of 10mill the more price effective variant would be to have a look around the northernmost asteroid field in NY and keep an eye out for a Black Eagle (and mines:)). also having one shield buster type weapon is pretty helpful in this mod. and try to use guns of very similar speeds as the targeting computer only uses the fastest velocity to aim.

i'm pretty sure, it's Crossfire specific. i remember feeling the same way as LancerDude at first. never looked into it and just got used to it after a while.

nice, looking forward to getting my ass kicked
any ideas on the date yet?
edit: just found it in calendar: Saturday, 29th September 2012

Congrats Forlorn,
well deserved!! -
Hi Rifty,
Trains are still very useful to make large sums of cash, you just have to find some nice profitable commodities you can trade alongside those cargo pods.
This often let's you double the 10 mill per round-trip you get from just podding.
there are definitely more than 29 stations you can dock. i'll give you a little train-tour next time, if you're interested.Slange Var,

HI,
concerning ships, the list you posted is very old, have a look at the Lexicon. Some hints for locations are given there as well. If you need any more PM me, i might have it written down somewhere.
Licenses are only needed for multiplayer, no need to concern yourself with them right now.
