I will be brutal on the criticism with regards to the easy earning on this mod seeing as within 12 hours or less I had earned enough credits to buy a phoenix class 10 ship and fully kit it out with all the upgrades, shield, max power, max shield, max thruster etc and enough fire power to launch a space shuttle on top of that full ammo with ease.
So yes personally I feel this ease of achievement has gone to the dogs so to speak, its just too damn easy and that my friends is why they're less people playing the Freelancer crossfire mod but on the other hand for people who want to earn quickly.
I am not just going to keep my podding a secret and the best place to do it, if someone asks I tell them.
Or I tell them if I am wanting to give them a quick achievement route if they're looking for one.
So really the entire buying, exchanging systems needs to be overhauled badly, I have three individual freelancer installations using registry tricks.
Freelancer Vanilla(original), Freelancer Crossfire 1.9 and Freelancer Discovery 4.86 and they all work flawlessly just so, I don't get bored easily and discovery seems to have a lot more players then crossfire it has to be said because they have stayed true as much as possible to Freelancer Vanilla(original) whilst still adding new ships and new parts but you still have to work hard to earn them.
So take a leaf out of there book if you really want to save this mod and all this anal ocd bug fixing is all fine and good but you are loosing time improving crossfire.
I really don't want to come across as an ass here but, I am a Freelancer veteran who has been playing since its release and taking short breaks with Freelancer Vanilla online yeah like a month or two if that or sometimes just a month.
You want to know why? (sarcasm) because the original Freelancer vanilla makes you work for it period!
I used to love trading diamonds and making a few million credits at a time going from new Tokyo main planet and selling the diamonds at Manhattan, NY but you have f******* killed the entire trading system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel all crossfire is now is a glorified Freelancer mod which boasts new awesome features yes of course by far and with enough eye candy to make my eyes bleed >< but it has a bad bases for trading and achieving a rank or the parts you want.
Now I just feel cheap playing it and only pvp and some rp keeps this mod alive in my opinion so do yourself a favor and fix these problems unless you want to loose more players.
I used to play on Freelancer vanilla way back in the day even after Microsoft closed down the servers with shed loads of players not just 15 or 20 players for god sake.
With many clans, I even was apart of quite a lot of trading clans or I escorted them on very long trade runs as a fighter pilot.
This was f******** awesome! this is what is fun for not just me but many other veterans that enjoyed this trading aspect of the original Freelancer Vanilla game and you have killed it with crossfire. This upsets me to the point I sometimes feel the need to voice my opinions and comments like now as this was a long time coming and my god is the new voice overs for the new factions crap, dude get a proper mich for god sake and remove the damn noise in the background they sound f******** horrible!!!!!
Or just stick to the original audio files for the faction pilot voice overs, I swear I am growing tired of this.
You have good additions to the game in terms of parts and ships but as, I have mentioned earlier in this post the bases of this crossfire mod for Freelancer is just plain horrible and too damn easy!
