Welcome aboard, and see you in space!

I actually played this game once, is this Evolution version different then the original Jumpgate, with Bruce Campbell narrating it, or is it something different.
From what I read in some posts it seems there was some sort of Halt on the whole thing and all engines were stopped.

Your Banned because I'm upset that I didn't get on this Thread earlier, and it's already a Month old.

...and I welcome the chase, although it does suck to get caught.

I have backup copies of my Hard drive and every game and program I use, I'm involved in a lot of projects online and off, and I store that information there as well.
Backup your backups I always say, and unfortunately I didn't do that
but the recovery process is slow.
Thanks for the shout outs folks, and trade Legal...Shame on you Forlon, I'm a Smuggler and the game is Tag...Your IT! -
I was away much longer then I had originally anticipated on my quest to construct a new PC, but alas my task is complete...They had the Technology,
I had the Knowledge (and the Money) to build by far the best PC I have every owned and I'm loving the finished project.Unfortunately this quest wasn't without its obstacles across rough terrain, damaging terrain that brought angry tears to my eye's to the point that I wanted to smash everything into tiny little pieces rough.
Terrain that blew out my motherboards graphics port for what seemed to be an internal short of some kind, (Thank God for Protection Plans.)
Terrain that forced me to Re-Install Windows on both my hard drives rough, and made one of my external back-up drives magically (Evil Magic) go blank of all its information,
like POOF! it was empty 1.5TB Gone without a trace?!?! Damaging.Hopefully Check Disk will fix this problem, I'm keeping my fingers crXssed.
Now I have to go through the task of reinstalling all my games and programs once more.
Anyway here it is, the end result of my endevours:
Tower: Cosair Obsidian 650D
Processor: Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.50GHz Haswell 22nm Technology
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z87 (Socket 1150)
Graphics: ATI AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series 3072MB (Gigabyte)
RAM: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz / (32GB Max)
Hard Drives: 2 x 1TB Seagate (SATA)

Welcome to CF and see you in space.

Yesterday I was playing CF until server restart at 12:00 midnight, was trading and still in space when it happened trying to finish one last run
before Ion Storm hit.
I say the RED server icon flashing, so I hit Alt-F4 and then Yes to Quit, 15min later I tried to start Freelancer and couldn't. Kept getting a EXE not found error, so I looked in the folder location and my Freelancer folder was gone.I have Win 7, it's installed in my Programs Files (x86) folder...I have done this in the past with out a problem, but never during server reset.
Has this happened to anyone else or Am I basically screwed and have to Restart and rebuild everything from scratch, if I can't find the most recent backup.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
CANCEL - PROBLEM SOLVED
Not sure what happened, even after a system restart my folder was still not there, but I went to folder options and did a "View hidden files" under the View tap and presto it appeared.
After that I reactivated hidden files and it stayed visible. Had to grab the EXE from my backup partition and repaste it into my Freelancer folder (For some reason it was missing) and create a new desktop short cut...Bam! I'm back in business...Go figure. -
I actually like the Sleeper Ship idea, I think they would be a cool model for some kind of transport or cargo ship, same function as a train these days or maybe Lux. Liner or Prision transport function.
Anyway I was asked about the Goliath in Coalition space recently and if it was purchasable and I told them not in 1.9, but it got me thinking why and could it be added maybe as a replacement for one of the smaller transports that we have now with the same cargo hold. Keep in mind these are just Suggestions and Questions, I know Graphic Rendering is not as easy as just do this and do that, I use it a bit in drafting models for presentation, and I use to make Computer Games Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.
Thanks for 1.9 Dev. Group and regardless of what you do I know 2.0 will be Mad Awesome...I can hardly wait.

I read the comments in my last post and it's good to see I was missed, and yes I am back, but still grinding with my Biz Venture. It was hard not playing CF for so long, and I knew if I did just for a bit, I wouldn't be able to stay away and I was right. Playing here the past few weeks has been as awesome as I remember it, and at the time I left it was necessary to focus else where without distractions. Now I am beginning to see great results in my Biz and I decided it's been to long away from CF.
If I haven't already I will see you in space, Fly Safe...and Have Fun, as I will doing what I do best here SMUGGLE...MooooHa Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Greetings fellow (IOC), and everyone else in the CrXssfire community.
I have been embarking on a new journey in business that has consumed most of my free time, these initial steps are the most important, and therefore require my undivided attention. Hopefully this process won't take to long to turn results, and I can return to CrXssfire beyond my sporadic attendance thus far. That being said YES I will return, and at that time most-likely without anymore distractions in life eating up my playing time
, but until then I bid you adieu and goodbye.
Fly Safe Everyone and Have Fun.

We'll keep the home fires burning!

I had no idea when I posted "Rumors of Server Closing" that this was actually happening, I didn't get into CF until 1.9 and I love it which I see isn't enough, and with 2.0 in the works (or Not?) I was really looking forward to its release. To be honest I've seen more new players on recently, and I try to get on everyday even with my current schedule, this to me means we are still attracting players. True the numbers don't match Discovery, and although I have never played Dis. quit frankly my thoughts are who the hell cares, I love CF.
I think the end of this server would be a big mistake, and by the number of responses I'm not the only one..Even Newbees got on to stake their claim. I myself have never ran nor participated in the operations of a forum, or server, but if it's help you need and more participation I'm willing to learn...I can't say it will go smoothly, but I will give it my best. As far as contribution goes I looked on this forum for the "Donate" button, and I just couldn't seem to find it, if someone can tell me what I'm missing that would be great.
Now all though I said who cares about Dis. as a member of CF it would be prudent for me to explore all aspects of what could increase our server numbers to be stable. I hear on Dis. you can build your own bases, and although I'm not sure what the BS bonus is I read about, I'm sure things of that nature help them as well.
BUT! I like CF for what it is, and although some things have changed like the container values, I can sort of understand why this my have happened, and quit frankly...Just Trade Something Else...BMG' perhaps.
I actually had a new player ask me "Now that I have all the "End Game" weapons (Coalition Gatt. & Nem. missles) what's next, like that's all the server side was about - buying guns. I explained the game never ends in MP, you create your own destiny, and there's more to the MP then just shooting people...Although it seemed this player was all about PvP, which was fine, I explained there's more to be had here on CF then just PvP. I also learned after seeing several players of this type that all they want to do is make money fast and buy the best of everything without exploring. I also must admit that at times when I was asked to PvP with new players, I was busy trading or building chars, and told them maybe later.
Perhaps things as innocent as I'm to busy right now could have been the problem, perhaps not being that you can't please everyone all the time.
I stated these things because although I have never played it, these may be the things keep Dis. numbers so big, not that we here at CF need to mimic Dis., we are CF and that is more then enough for me.
In closing I believe what was mentioned about the release of 2.0 is true, that it's arrival is much desired and will bring new members and hold them here. I remember around last December there where 50 players on, and even today I see the numbers flux from 5 to 12 or so, which isn't a lot, but I believe the demand is there, we just need to open the doors to those who truly want to assist. I must admit that even though I don't read every single post that get's posted every day of the week, I heard nothing of great assistance being needed, by all members of CF.
Well here's my hand, and I would be more then willing to assist in anything it would take to continue this great server and forum - Crossfire Forever!
-
I was asked about the server closing down in the following months by what seemed to be a new player, I ensured them that this is not so and the server is going strong, with Crossfire 2.0 just around the corner.
They then told me that rumors where being spread by certain players that this was so, but before I could ask them what players they jumped off line.
I'm not sure who these players are, or even if they where online at the time or from the forum in private chat, but I took screen shots of the players that where on when the question was presented to me, in case any admin think it is necessary to look into. (Send me a PM for images) -
I've seen both these ships at the shipyard in New York, but I have yet to see anyone using them. What is the purpose of these two ships and are they worth buying?
I suppose the prisoner ship could be used to transport prisoner pods from -where ever- to prisons, but you can do that with any ship.
As far as the Luxury Liner goes I see no practical use for this vessel, other then what it says in the description "A party boat", and I can't remember the first time I had an opportunity
to have join one of those in Crossfire, but I will admit there are some places in Altair I haven't been yet, maybe there's a party there. Perhaps NPC's will approach you to use your services if you own one of these, but I highly doubt it.Can someone please enlighten me on what it is exactly I'm missing here, when it comes to these two ships.
