I got to agree victor_charlie_12, I mostly check the forum just to see if he wrote something new... :) Specially now that he "left"...

I had the same problem, so here's how I solved it and hopefully it'll work for you. Mind, I have Windows 7 64bit. I would advise that you follow the exact same steps: don't skip a reboot!

1- Start fresh, that means everything is un-installed and the folder that will be left is deleted manually.
2- Install FL, then reboot
3- Install FLMM 1.31
4- Copy misnet.ocxin the right folder. I followed the steps from: http://angrybyte.com/windows-hacks/msine…indows-7-vista/ making sure I did so in administrator mode. It didn't work the 1st time because I hadn't ADMIN mode CDM.
5- REBOOT! (I think this one might be superdooper important... )
6- Install CF 1.9, register it in FLMM and voilà!

This maybe a stupid question but if I'm upgrading to 1.9 (implying that I've played 1.82 enough to know a thing or two), for me to experience the new SP storyline fully, should I start the vanilla storyline 1st, go through it again, or can I just jump in with open SP?

Got it, had to go through a few save games before I managed to find a good one: the third was the charm. It did set be back a bit but patience is the key. Thanks for your help... NOW GOT BACK AND FIX 1.9!

Hi all, I'm new here. I've just finished the SP story line, CF style, and was exploring a bit when the game crashed just when I was activating a jump gate. Now it's the 3nd time this bug appears for me; the 1st was while playing SP (activating the New Berling gate). Everytime it was while activating a gate. After the game crashes, I try to reload the game but it crashes before the menu can appear, although I can see the CF intro screen for a few secs.

My only solution so far was to uninstall everything, clean re-install, and move on. Now after 3 tries, I'm kinda looking for what can cause this. I've looked through the forum to no avail. Is it a known issue?

I've read all the install instructions (the old save games thing, disable 3d sound, use FFMM 1.31, etc) and I'm following everything to the letter.
