SF2 is like freelancer with a joystick and not much like wing commander or starlancer series...I feel unconfrotible when I pay the game for some reason...something seems not to be in the right place...anyway....

Im playing the xbox version and it is a really nice game for people who are into scifi terrror of the mid 50s to 60s Anyway, I do like it, Im half way thorugh (I think)

FUll crap for me...it is a copy of Millenian game but more gadgets and I saw some videos in a software congress back home. The idea to start from a micro organisn and tweaked it to see what comes out of it means no fun for me

If you like point and click game with nice graphics and good economy, EVE is for you. But f you like to have the control of your ship and playing freelancer style with a joystick and some true dynamics-real physics implications, Jumpgate would be your game. Both have difficult learning curve while one like EVE is more mechanic, JG is more intuitive. However, if you choose JumpGate, I suggest to play for the new one that is comming by next year.

Well, after playing a while EVE is just the same game I played when I beta tested. A game for gankers, at least half of the population in it. It would be situation where you could be 6 high level player vs 1 low level. Thye just like easy target. The problem is that if you are low level char you wont be able to catch up a high level player. Usually, high level player who choose to play the pirate role fly toguether with beast ships and only get on low level player with some high value stuff. The reason, eventhough is easy to make money in eve, high level ships plus technology are too expensive so most of the gankers take on only low level player.s The security status in EVE is a joke and you can not show your true player skill becuase you will never be on equal terms to high level character. Bounty for gankers are too low since they dont get on other players with the same high level. Kill rights (as they call your right to kill someone who has kill you) is another joke since they just last for a month & dont even give a chance for a low level player to get even with the high level killer becuase it take too much time to train skill eventhough they keep trainning offline.

Bad part, I bought an account for a year which I regret becuase Jumpagate is far more better game than this one. I should have known better when I got back into a mouse & clcik game with offline trainning skill. EVen Earth & Beyond was better game but lack of graphics and appearences that EVE has kill Earth & Beyond slowly.

Well, I subscribed to the beta test program long time ago but no words up to now. Anyway, I take the chance to ask who else has played the previous JumGate saga. The ones that has know that this is not the usual space game. This game involves some how space physics such as inertia, weigth mas distribution, momentum and some other interesting stuff that makes this game unique and fun to some people to play. When it comes out it will be nice to play with my friends in the CF community.

Hello guys, since I playing EVE I thought it was ok to post the first post here Anyway, the game is OK and since I beta tested long long time ago I decided to go back and playing for a while until Jumpgate Evolution comes out. Playstation 3 consoles were out this weekend through USA & Canada ( previous weekend in Japan) From 1 to 2 thousand people stood in line waiting for the game shops to open and buy the new console. There were even shots, attemp to robbery, and fights over getting the new Playstaions 3. I havent seen behavior like this but on TV in a Schwarzeneger movie where he forgot to buy his son christmas present...

On a small note, some people started auctions on ebay that ended up from $2000 to $3000 price sale range.

Hell, I guess some people really need their gaming like drugs, beer, or a good old whisky.

PS: as for the lag, 3 nights ago, it was fine with me with almost 20 players (dropping to 15 when I left) just little yellow and 1 or 2 red. But yesterday night, even with only 9 people, the lag was heavy. Anything change in that time frame??

As I told some of the guys before, my company is migrating to full open source software. We are testing several distros to see which one would be most appropiated for the company andour educational projects. So far, our choice have been narrow to these 3:

1.- debian (latest version)
2.- Knoppix 5.01 DVD-ES version
3.- Edubuntu 6.06 & 6.10 (beta testing last one)

Im now using knoppix dvd 5.01- EN in live CD. Pretty cool to use some stuff without touching my HD at all Anyway, I just testing its live capabilities and next week I will install it in a couple of machines. We already using devian on my wife computer cause her final tesis is an SCADA WEB project for a water plant using PHP, MySql, some other open source software for imaging, vectoring, and so on. In a couple of week will test Edubuntu DVD 6.06 and 6.10 which it seems more suitable for the company cause of its educational design.

Next, we will go to another open source congress to get into new applications development plus I got real caught by computational forensic. I think that is the other reason I am also testing knoppix plus othe interesting tools. The only bad thing about all these is gamming :(..well, maybe some day eventhough Im playing lately FlightGear which the more realistic thing I have ever found so far in the flying sim area (I did fly some real planes when I was at college studying Aerospace Eng. I just ashame i didnt dare to sky diving )

Why everything that was said in CF clan meetings is already a word out in other FL server??

It doesnt matter you agree or not to what was said but if this is a clan meeting it should not be out cause you suppose to defend your server.

hehehe, I remember when I played JumpGate where I had 2 chars: 1 the explorer and 1 the fighter. At the end I got tired of fighting and kept the explorer (RG-HAWK) Fighting in JumpGate was expensive cause when you get destroyed you go back in a pod to the station, you get your ship back by insurance but not the gear you had but the newbies gears (in few words, you will lose all the fancy and good equipment) Plus your insurance went down with each death I remember telling OP once (during testing) why shouldnt CF implement that, I wont tell you his answer

If you find difficult mission 2, I want to know your opinion when you get on mission 6 (the race) Mission 2 will look like a child play compare to the race mission.

2 things m8, as OP stated, try 1.7... It wont change the splash damage but it is much better mod for single-player. On mission 2, timing is essential and I know that cause I finished the whole campaign on both 1.6 and 1.7
