    Im glad you guys are giving some input. This is my 2nd design and Im working on a third one that I hope would the final to present to OP for CF 1.6 as Freedom clan ship :) If he accept it, I will start to work with hardpoints and texture.


    @Darkjedy, the SU-35, SU-27, and SU-37 are ones of my favorite fighter planes from the Soviet Union. Especially those were one of the first fighter with - Helmet Target System - (what you see, you target) plus it has an interesting characteristic that by the time not many US fighters could done. SInce they were with partial mechanic flight control system, they could lift their nose really high without stalling and change direction fast. Later, US start to work with an Instability Computer System that make the plane more instable under control enviroment making more maneuvrable which was also the case for the SU-37 upgrade. The soviet Union was also working on a rear missile fire system on those planes but I dont know what happen :)


    @Thank you Tranquil ;) it is good to have nice feedback from player. Im just modellind the ship, to make it flying would be OP choice.


    Streamer, hehehe, the EF 2000 fighter. Nice plane and I even got the pc-game for it. I really fan of any kind of sim coming from Jane´s fighters sim, US Navy fighters, EF 2000, and Tornado from NATO. I guess that influence me on my ship design style.


    Nitro, I was affraid of that the canard would affect the fire of line and with your mountingpoints I have a more clear picture. You are right about the canard so I will work on that this weekend. Also, your suggestion with mountingpoints are great so if you dont mind, I would use them with a minor changes :)

    Here is Freedom fighter with a little modification and a little slimmer. Still, I think I need to work on it a little bit more so I will do that this weekend. So please, any input from you guys would be great.


    @OP, what do you think? and if you may tell me the scale for CF ships so I could adapt the scale to this ship, please...


    Gunny, I took your advice so I added cannards on it, does it look better for you?

    Well, I pull this out of my mind but you maybe right. I graduated in Aerospace Engineer at Wichita State University and I used to visit a lot the McConnell AFB at Wichita. One of my Hobbie was photography and took lots of pictures of all kind of airplanes and air shows (especially the Blue Angels show- yes, they still around with new blood) We also had Beechcraft, Cessna and the Boeing assembly factory there. Oh yes, Pizza Hut also born in WSU from 2 MBA students in the late 50s and was sold to Pepsi Corp in 1977 :) taking note that this pizza was the first one to be delivery in space (sorry, off topic :D )


    Anyway, new re-design of the ship will be ready in few days. If OP approve it, My next work after next release will be texture and harpoints. As for software, well, I am using 3d studio Max 5 (old version so I bought it cheap) which was similar to gmax which was the one being use by the lancersreactor ship design tutorial guide.


    @thanks gunny, I may not completely lose the vertical fin but I`m working on it. I´m also working on the wing sweep. About canards, it will make it to look a lot like the swiss fighter plane from Saab so I dont thing I will implement them.


    @OP, Now that you say that I notice the similiraty for the front view, is it bad? some input as if Im going to the right direction is always appreciate it, thanks

    I heard or read somewhere that there is a way to check for your connection without getting into your privacy so if you are producing lag the system gets you out. implemented in one of the CF patch but for some reason didnt work well.


    ANother idea I stumble in lancersreactors, real physics? but that will change the way you see FL and maybe not many people would be happy about that...

    My good friend Dark,


    The real world is a mixture of all type of people, online or outside/around you (RL) One thing is for sure, you make friends or gain enemies everywhere. You could find a good guy and a bad guy around the corner or on the online games you play or forums you enter. There is Bad and Good everywhere. You just have to think if it was worthy to go all these trouble at the end. My answer always is, in real life or online, Yes. You will find people that get into your nerve but dont you find them outside the cyberspace?? But then, you also find good people as I did. You were my first friend in FL community m8 and just that, knowing the kind of person you are, it was worth it.


    Now lets disuss the difference between online and offline game. Well, I have played a lot of offline games and I can say it was great but playing online have been the greatest so far cause you do real interactions with people, something than the AI of an NPC wont give you ever until they invent the first DATA :D who could process not just statistics, numbers, but emotions and feelings.


    Well, at the end is just your decision m8 and I hope that given you a little of my own experience as everybody else did help you to chose the best desicion that works for you.

    Hello m8, about the flipping problem I am really interested on that problem. The reason is the miner and from last event I understood Petrus troubles. Some of the players dont bump the miner on purpose but there is a lot of confusion and smoke to try to keep the distance from it. So I do understand them and I know it is not intentionally. I dont know if FL has same code as Jumpgate does where they considered weigth and mass in some physics equation since we dont have inertial moment here but we do in JG. However, I can see that same trust on different ship with different weight especification do have little impact. So this could also affect miner speed (which I think less that 29 will be hell :D ) SO I dont know if we could work a compromise without affect other ships for instance...


    Anyway, this flipping problem affect big ships and it shouldnt cause of mass ( if we do have these 2 variables, weight and mass -which are not the same by definition- the problem would be easy to solve)



    On another point, the datastorm issue have been working out on other servers where what they did was, in some way, keep the system layout, but all name and base location where change from you datastorm file after you run it. Also, you can not find any wreckage on DS. What method they used I dont know cause Im not a coder. Theis method has been also implemented to avoid the use of Freelancer explorer tool.


    ANother anticheat I have seen around and I think is what some people/cheaters use here to get the uber weapons, is a check/comparison file amount the server wreckage and the client wreckage. SOme people exploit that by changing client wreckage outcome. Another thing I found out is that when you mod a client side you still can login and play as long as you dont get into the stuff you put in on your side. I use to do that to test and find out a good config for my ship in single player but Im not allow to do that anymore cause I find out that in some way, eventhough you dont use it online, still this produce lag. SO I advice if there is a way to check client side for unathorized modded version of an original to be implemented...
