Capital Ship Rebalancing

  • I just released an update dealing with a bunch of detail improvements.


    • the hardpoints of 3 gunboats and one cruiser got realign to be in a better firing position which results in more turrets actually being useful
    • firing arcs of several turrets got improved on gunboats
    • the liberty gunboat got its mount point changed to fix its position when docked
    • the rheinland forward guns no longer are fixed to the sides and are brought in line with the forward guns of the other gunboats
    • multiple sound issues got fixed, especially with the rheinland forward guns
    • bretonia turrets on the gunboat got replaced with a smaller version

    I took a look at the effects used for forward guns. Two of them are relative big but in my tests they were working fine and did not cause any side effects so I did not change them yet. If this is really an issue I could create a custom effect for them later.

    To be honest I would have wanted to adjust the turrets on the gunboats even more since their proportions do not fit. This would have meant to create different sizes of turrets which fit to the sizes of the hardpoints on the ships. But this in result would have meant that server chars which have these ships end up getting cheat bans due to the different settings stored on the chars.

    I might still do this change at a later point but first need to check how many chars would be affected and how to manually fix this issue on the server side.
