Do you have 3D sound turned on? If so then turn it off, and the problem should go away.
Yep such problems are usually caused by modern graphic cards that have problems with the 3D sound in FL...so turn it off and you will be ok...
One more, on some systems its not possible to change the 3D sound option if you are playing the game...so better do it in the main menu after starting FL
Or just disable hardware sound accel in Dxdiag
Well, in june 15, 2006, the server was extremelly unstable, i personally experienced arround 6 crashes in about four hours 
. Nobody seemed to know what was happening.
Yeah i had that even on another mod too i thought i should reinstall freelancer...but if deactivating 3dsound the sound is more...crackling sometimes. 
It crashed to bluescreen
Oh and thats offtopic but where to buy the real turrets for the ships sold at those docks near Crossfire planet? because a rheinland battleship with kusari guns is just...
