New and improved trade assault

  • The trade assault rules have been modified to increase the fun and potential for strategy the event will take place at 8pm GMT tonight, remember the more ppl that participate the more fun it will be!


    1/ there will be two teams traders and pirates


    2/ the traders will have one freighter (me i will make a char special for this event clearly named to minimise confusion) and escorts


    3/ the aim of the event is for the pirates to destroy more cargo than is delivered so for example if i deliver


    4 train fulls of cargo and the pirates kill the train 3 times the trader teams wins but if the pirates kill the train 5 times and i only deliver 2 train fulls of cargo the pirates win


    (this is to do away of all the difficulties with attempting to keep score so the system means that its simple points instead of complicated adjudication of delivered and captured cargo)


    4/ the participants will be chosen by the team leader(btw i wont be the trader team leader i just fly the freighter and i also follow the team leaders orders) just like in Saturdays assault event


    5/ all weapons are allowed no botts and batts in combat between fights players may regenerate or dock for repairs or to reload but the freighter may not be docked for longer than 30 seconds or the pirates win a point by default


    6/ the event will run for 90 minutes


    the idea was to make this event as simple as possible and me having the freighter eliminates any problems with finding players with the correct ships.



    though the event starts at 8pm GMT can everyone come half hour earlier so we cant organised and started quickly


    I will be using a seferina instead of a train as this is a much more manageable ship but is nowhere near a match for a ftr and also i need team leaders to volunteer each week as well i hope to make this event a fun and regular fixture as I think after tonight's first run it has a lot of potential for both combat and the use of tactics and cunning from both teams

  • The event experience last night was real good. Hunters were winning but due to some techs problems we called even last night. New London was crashing on us when many players were in that system. But before that, the hunt and fight was pretty dam good. It was a nice chase from three fronts and again Donators caught up/spot the trader at New London just before the server went off.


    I want to congratulate Dark and every player that participate in the event cause it was real fun and I did enjoyed.

  • Last night was my first participation as a player, and I have to agree with RGHawk, its was excellent.


    The hunting, the chasing and then the killing.


    Looking forward to next weeks....

  • sorry about the report i was tired last night and was going to post the report this morning but i haven't had the chance until now.


    The event went pretty well considering the trouble with server crashes the hunter team where ahead on points but the recurrence of crashes prevented the event being concluded therefore instead of paying the winning team members 20 million credits each i paid every participant 10 million except for donator who i gave a special bonus due to his fantastic performance of finding the the trader (me) 3 times and making 2 successful kills so well done donator :)


    I will be considering a new location for the event possibly with a slightly shorter distance so we get a little more action if anyone has any ideas plz let me know


    Also all the people who didn't collect their prize last night plz speak to me in game

  • Hey DarkStalker. I was there too. I was the first to spot (and got killed) the convoy on Omega-3/Cambridge Jump Gate.
    BUT I have not noticied the 10 mil increment on my account...
