Privateer 2 Timbres Sound Sampler

    Don Allen's excellent soundfont,

    , was recently updated to version 3.1. With a custom soundfont, you can make MIDI files sound like they're being played through a fancy hardware synthesizer, such as a Roland MT-32. If you play classic games on your PC, you can configure a

    virtual device

    that will automatically enhance the MIDI music of whatever game you are playing. This also works in combination with

    DOSBox

    . For this update, we've converted the Privateer 2 in-flight MIDI's (

    MIDI

    ) using both a Sound Blaster General MIDI soundfont, and the latest Timbres of Heaven. You can find some more Wing Commander samples in a
