Stuck at level 17 after SP campaign?

    I recently finishing the campaign and started crossfire 2.0. I noticed my level says 17 - recruit and level up requirement says "mission". Don't certain ships and mission require a higher level? Also, does the crossfire campaign ever give you a break so you can fly bar missions or explore on your own? Thanks!

    you will remain level 17 until after the end of Crossfire campaign but don't worry about that. You can buy equipment and ships regardless of your level.
    You will get a few breaks during the campaign (which can be used to do a hidden bonus mission) at 2 points in the campaign, you can decline a mission and come back there later to pick up the story again (same as mission 10, which you receive right after 9 (without level up) but with option to decline)
