New Tomb Raider details

look, the seventh Tomb Raider game is named, and Toby Gard speaks out...
Tomb Raider was
great. And then, later on, Tomb Raider was rubbish. But we've got a good feeling about the
next Lara Croft outing after seeing the new character designs and hearing from returning
design vet, Toby Gard.
First off: Lara's new look. The exclusive pictures in the US
Official PlayStation 2 Magazine show that Lara's never looked better. Gone are the angular
and back pain-inducing features, replaced instead with a far softer and more natural look.
And some high-tech gadgets. Legal reasons prevent us from showing the pictures here, but the
more enterprising among you can satisfy your curiousity with Google and a keyword or two.
Even more exciting are Gard's comments: especially when he likened sticking Lara in
Paris in Angel of Darkness to having Batman in California. A back to basics approach is now
the order of the day, which will see Lara in tombs. Raiding.
"My goal was to make
the old girl look a bit different, something more modern, more up-to-date," said Gard.
And the name of the game? Tomb Raider: Legend. You know, now that our faith has been
restored - it just might be.
