• Just like in every RPG the inventory is too small. Thats a fact.
(gold members have bigger inventory... at least ive read about that)

ok... the inventory has 48 slots
next to that you have a bank account that you can access at every space station or by calling the azura to your position (note: there is a cooldown for this feature).
My bank account is full... I store all these anomaly cards in there (as I need them for crafting items)... they take all slots of my bank account.
So only my personal inventory is left.

one slot is used for my spacesuit (dont forget to deactivate it and put your normal armour on after you finish the asteroid mission or you will get problems on ground missions)
one slot is used by the datapad
one slot is used by the azura console
43 slots left to be filled with every crap

thats not much... so i would advice you to go regulary to your bank account to drop the crafting items... and the lockboxes there (double click them in your inventory -> fastest way to transfer the inventory to the bank)

you get tons of equipment after some time...
shield bats, weapon bats... and so on -> sell that crap on your replicator (i never needed it)
you get ship equipment... take a look at what you need and put it right into your ship slots and sell the old crap
if you have ship items that that you dont want to sell but you also dont want it in your inventory then go to starbase 1 and go to the place where you can buy a new ship... there is a person where you can change between the ships that you own... just put the items that you want on your old ships so your slots on the inventory are free

there are personal items... like guns, personal shields and so on.
make sure that you use the max limit of your bridge officers (put them on duty if you have not done yet)
now you make sure that you have the best equipment on your own char and the other remaining good stuff you add to your bridge officers...
If you get better weapons during a mission... take it... and either use it on your own char or give it to one of your bridge officers... and then sell the old gun
it does not make sense to keep that old crap

sometimes you get account bound items... well... thats always a tricky decision... use them or sell them
that clearly depends on what you need... some items are so good that its worth to use them... others are just a little bit better than the stuff you already use... in that case you should sell them because these account bound items are often rare ones
they are pretty expensive so you would get a good price for them
but like i said.. if they are good... hell, use them

In every case I would also try to use the best equipment and sell the stuff that I clearly dont need.
Keep your inventory clean... There are missions where you get so many items that the inventory gets damn full. So sell the crap that you dont need.
The energy crystals will be of good use later.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,

    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!
