Cargo Ships

  • ok New here still working things out, but here is the glitch. I would like ot buy a basic large cargo ship, not one so bit it is limited to landing locaitons, but one which can land anywhere with a good sizes cargo to make available the widest aray of routes possible.

A basic list of said ships wold be nice, not al the info, just say their locaiton, cargo size and if they require any special things to land or can land anywhere. Then let the people have to fly to location ot check out all the restof the stats, prices, weapons arrays and such. A basix sort of like the nice univers map that was posted. Just enough to guide someone where they need to go, but not give everything away. Maybe a news listing of cargo and fighter ships, locations and basics, So one could go to any bar on a locaiton and "watch the sales ads for ships in a way", like car ads on TV...

This way I could see the ships cargo size, have it stated if it needs docking portals to land or if it can land on any sation and planet, and where it is located. That then gives a person enough info, to know where to go to check prices, weapons arrays and such on site.

Just a thought, I even in desperation tried to yes, dig out my old datastorm to look over available ships, but it would not even unzip for me anymore bad copy I guess. So I am forced to have to come here and bother you nice people which I am sure probably have more important issues to deal with. Nope do not like to "Cheat" as it were, but we all have limited time to play and I like ot make themost of it as possible.

    So sorry for the inconveniance

  • take the one i told you inGame yesterday, the APCs mechanics and technical conditions are from yesterday and before, it´s not worth the scrap metal price you will get for it from the Junkers - and you must not ask or pay a fee to Cops (double ++).

  • While the APC is probably the most cargo for a relatively agile mid-size cargo ship, the Armored Transport (AT) is probably a better bet to accumulate tradng credits in a hurry, while still having access to basically all bases. The catch is that while its cargo is nominally 750, the mass of its considerable armor makes it more difficult to dock around such base items as bio-domes, etc. Precise positioning is required before engaging the AI autodock sequence, or else it will spin helplessly in space while the AI looks for a "needle in a haystack" for a neutral inertia point for the docking tractor. It also has a limited number of available upgrades, but IMO, these limitations are amply offset by the larger cargo capacity, which allows good profits even on "oversize" high value goods, which take up 2-3 times more cargo space than simple goods like water. It's relatively expensive (~$26 million), but that makes for a much smaller trade loss than a train. Good luck out there!
