is it an anti-virus or firewall ? what does it do ?
normally cheat detection spots only modificatins of the game folder so running softwares don't mess much with the game but i suggest you try and if it doesnt work you turn it off....

The Crossfire server does not use Punkbuster for cheat detection.
Peerblock eh? Well, to be honest, it's only going to eat up system resources while in-game and you especially won't be able to monitor it very effectively if you're playing FL/CF in fullscreen.
If you've got a good software or hardware firewall, just leave that on and don't worry about Peerblock IMHO. Peerblock only seems useful I'd imagine if you're actually experiencing DoS attacks, trojan backdoors or other hacker entry attempts of which at that point, you've got bigger, more serious problems to deal with if someone's trying to hack your computer anyway.

ok yea it basically blocks known problem IP addresses and i have it for reasons that shall remain anonymous both from my past and present, and i actually play on a laptop and surprisingly it uses up very little system resources to run peerblocker. but thanks for ur answers guys i look foreward to seeing u in game sometime soon

Peerblocker will not interfere with Freelancer or Crossfire.
Obviously, downloading torrents in the background will interfere with your network performance, so you should pause your P2P software when you play Freelancer in MP. You will not get kicked off the server, but anything that adds lag will make PVP more difficult.
