docking with large transporter

    I recently bought a large transport with a cargo space of 700. Now I cant land on most planets and stations because of the size of the ship. Surprising I cant land on planets with mooring fixture either, can some one tell me why? do I need a special license or equipment to land?

    to use the mooring fixture you need to select it and press the dock button, not on the docking ring or the planet... Try that first :) And btw. mooring fixtures will work with smaller ship so you'll be able to dock on these planets faster without having to wait for your turn to land in the Docking Ring ;)

    Large transport cargo ship is classed as a Capital ship and can only dock at a planet with a mooring , the mooring is above the docking ring on a planet , Eney ship that carries more than 500 units is classed as a Capital ship , The largest ships to be able to dock eney where are Armord Transport and APC , The APC being the better of the two .

    I have noticed that if I were to buy a capital ship from a base other than planets I wont be able to dock with them (I think because they dont have mooring right?). But then If I want to buy equipments for my ship I can only do so from planets with mooring. This is unfortunate since sometimes bases have better equip for capital ships than planets. Am I missing something here?

    You could buy equipment from other players , there are CF docks they have some wep's , or Earth is good , But with Capital ships you are limited , I have a large train but there's not much point in useing it , you would be better of with an APC it has a capacity of just under 500 units and fly's just like a VHF , It takes class 10 equipment and packs a punch , And you can go eney where ;) .
