NEWTONIAN FLIGHTMODEL

  • It's a general question about games, so I think this might be the right place.

As a long time fan of spacesims, especially the gameable ones I would like to ask all around
what spacesim do you know of, that uses a newtonian flight model (you know: real inertia and force vectors working on your ship)

    I only know of :

    X BTF
most difficult to fly and esp. to fight IMO

    Xtension
    about the same

    X2
not as difficult, but you still have to be VEERY carefull with the htruster and engine control

    X3
never played, due to lack of machine power for decent play

    Independance War 1
never get my hands on a copy

Independance War 2 Edge Of Chaos
IMHO the best playable space"simulation" with the "real feel" ever

    Orbit and its modifications
    nice flying but no gaming

Does anybody knows of others ?

  • Anyone already tried the combat-simulation/demo available for download there ?

  • Hi all,

    Just a little dead-post-raising...

Let's talk about Frontier and First Encounter, which had Newtonian physics and stellar systems simulation... Nice, but they would have been better, had they featured more multiple ships combats. One-to-one in newtonian is not very explosive. On multiple ships, it can become really interesting.

There was also Nexus - the Jupiter incident. Never fully played, got only the demo, but it was quite nice.
