Help with Crossfire 1.8

    hey, when i try to play crossfire 1.8, the client thing comes up but then it comes up with an error message that says:


    Run-time error '53':
    File not found: CF_CL.dll


    but then i find that fule in the freelancer\exe folder. Can anyone help with with this?


    also, i did fresh installs and everything, but im not sure if i sollowed the insallation instructions properly. All i did was a fresh install of everyhting, run the installer,put whatever it was installing into the mods folder in flmm 1.31, then activated it, then i went to freelancer\mods\crossfire1.80\exe and ran the thing there called freelancer, then that problem occured.


    can anyone help?

    please try copying that dll to "C:/WINDOWS/system32"

    tried that, but when i try to run the client, still comes up with that same error


    also, im running windows 7 ultimate, maybe that can shed some light?

    Try forcing it to run freelancer as administrator.


    ( right click on the icon and select run as )

    I generally don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to troubleshooting, but did you try to run it in XP compatibility mode?

    hi everyone,


    First off from what i have seen in single player the mod looks great.. my hats off to the DEV ;)


    Here is my problem maybe one of you can help a bit...


    1.8 installs fine and the game loads.. I can play single player, etc... but with multiplayer when i get to the main screen its full of different servers.. when i actually find the swat server ( it says beta) by scrolling down it says 1.0 and its red.. also i cannot activate it.. when i filter the servers compatible with the build swat is not there.. (there are tons of servers like '24/7 Hamburg' is one that come to mind)


    I remember in 1.7 there was a screen that updated new files before the multiplayer bar was able to be pressed, i cannot find that updater screen since 1.8? when in FLMM i click on Run Freelancer it goes directly to 1.8 mod (the mod loads)


    am i supposed to go into Freelancer file or exe and run something?


    If anyone can tell me whats the problem it would be great :) I found 1.7 much easier to install than this one..

    after the action the launcher HAS TO appear just like in CF1.7
    otherwise you have a corrupt installation of the mod

    its alright, i did the same mistake once thinking it was a general thread, but its much more organized if every different problem is in seperate threads.

    dont know what happened, but for some reason, the error didnt come up, but i cant play multiplayer because it says:


    Crossfire Update not found ... only Singleplayer available [E4]

    atleast now i can play single player, yay!


    also, what does that thing called cfwd do in the same folder as the client thingy?
