  • Hey!
I cant seem to connect to the crossfire server!
I'm running vista x64 with no antivir and no fw.. i've seen that others have had the same problem. BUT! I cant seem to find a solution :(
Is there anyone who can help me? ;(

  • I've got no idea what kind of vista my computer is running, but i had several problems when i installed CF. I don't remember how i solved it, but it took a couple of clean reinstalls.
    Sorry i can't help you.

  • I don't think the problem lies in the installation of CF, but rather the connection to the server, seeing that I can see the server and play SP.
If it's the platform of my OS, I don't know either. :P

As I said, others have had the same problem as I, But their "guildes" didn't help me at all, unfortunatly. :(

I've opened the ports for the game(IP: 87.106.211.192; Port: 2302-2304).
And I've tried to set IE to "work offline"mode.. Still no progress though.

Does anyone have any idéa of what the problem might be?

    Really greatful for any answers!!

  • I use Home Premium 64 bit. have you changed your properties for CF to run as if under Windows XP?

  • I just screamed at it until it worked.

Just kidding, it could be your antivirus, sometimes it blocks things, I think... Shattered Worlds has a good guide on getting Freelancer servers to work.

  • He's got it working now, using the simple solution.. Install Windows XP! ;)

Thanks for all the help though! (Speaking for both of us)

  • I run vista64, and had the same problem at frist. All i did to fix the single player, is wait intill the client finished updateing. (meaning both the single player toggle and the multiplayer toggle were ready and active-ie= not grayed out). Then right click on the desktop launcher, and run as admin. It takes a min or two but launches fine. Been playing the singleplayer eversince with no problems as of yet. It did take 10-15min for the client to update, first time.
