The Nexus: The Jupiter Incident game community is still very much alive, and the demand for a sequel to the original game has increased sharply in the last few months! An online petition for a sequel can be found here: http://www.petitiononline.com/nexus_2/petition.html
I signed this petition myself a few months ago, and the number of signatures has increased 5-fold since then!
Meanwhile, new mods for Nexus continue to be produced by fans; check the Downloads section here, under "Nexus" for the latest additions. Also, anyone interested in playing Nexus multiplayer may post their availabiliity in the Nexus forum here; players need to log in to a Hamachi setup together for multiplayer games.
