I was present at the top gun event tonight. Brilliant fight between Jack & Crysis for the tournament win. The best & longest I have seen. But it was disappointing in other ways.
It seems to come down to a battle between 'Laggs'.
I was hoping to see different ships fighting. I tried a Sabre without armour but had weight reduction mod. I hoped for more manoeuverability. This was not to be.
I Got creamed & rarely got a decent shot off. But then I'm no fighter (too slow & clumsy with the controls). This is not sour grapes as I expected little but fun from the event.
However I do have questions about the event. The best pilot should win most often. Therefore should not all participants have the same ship and same loadout?
Is it possible for this to happen?
Would players use it to try out new ships & weapon combinations? I can understand more experienced players who may have tried many ships but surely variety is the spice of life. Live a little die a lot.
I'll be there next week with a different ship I hope.

what ever you do don't get a Phoenix fighter, I have found i fair better in my saber (don't confuse this with the outcast sabre) it is agile and when kitted out with power gen, armour and shield upgrades it can hold it's own against most ships (also has more armour than the lagg). 1 tip for anyone get loads of money and try as many ships as you can. some are better at 1 event whilst poor at another.
Just so you know i am new to PVP to i got some advise of a fellow clan member. if you'd like some practice i am sure we an both benifit.
